Also if you’re having trouble with DBFZ, coaches in the Discord are super helpful and really knowledgable, but you’ll get the same answer there as Roofie is bound to eventually give you. Lab shit out. Everyone is viable in ranked. If you really want to compete, you’ll have to tier whore, and by that point it’s no longer a question about who to play.

Well someone’s gotta go in the back. Hit and Piccolo ain’t those chars heh. Gogeta can work as an anchor too but Trunks is legit a strong anchor and only better yet in s3 cause ex flip lets him convert off EVERYTHING, even the smallest of touches. When I talked about good normals and screen control for an anchor, Trunks is that guy, his ki blasts are crazy and ex sword is a very usable and spammable move.
Base goku is also a fantastic anchor, Trunks does not need a lot of meter so don’t play with B assist with that in mind. The base goku A assist will help him out a lot more than any meter gain.

ok seriously, with all this talk of anchors can someone explain to me why SS Vegeta is historically an anchor? I see none of the things named that make a good anchor in him.
He had great meter use at one point. His assist is one of the few lockdown assists and baits a SD. It’s the easiest assist to combo into that isn’t a C assist. Reliable confirms helped. Final Flash is a decent level 3. Big Bang attack has some good utility because it can change direction from straight to down, so you always have something to connect.
You could really play him at any position and he’d be fine. His consistence made him an anchor usually, but not exclusively.

Yeah it feels good to remember those times when DBFZ was straight crack. Good times. Man HKD 16 was insanity. Vegeta too. While Vegeta has been dropping and dropping, 16 just got raped in his USB port. Damn.
