Deprogramming of white supremacy isn’t happening unless people start having these conversations at home, and it just finds another mask to say the same things it always has. Plus it can be imported from other countries like Canada (Gavin McGinnis, Steven Crowder, Jordan Peterson etc.), and they can spin things like “racism doesn’t exist” and anti-immigration rhetoric, ‘human rights are marxist and/or communism’ etc. etc.

That’s the another thing. The police in the U.S. can be defunded just like the military and still have money to fall back on.

I’m for defunding, law enforcement gets almost excessive amounts of funding that they don’t use or use properly. Put some of that shit in schools and the community. I’m not saying cripple their budget, just make sure funds are properly allocated and used for their intended purposes like better training
And I ain’t debating about it, that’s how I feel

With this country’s anti-black and anti-poor mindset, of course people are going to reward police brutality.
Thats less defunding, and more responsible use of funds.
Hence why “Defund” is a stupid slogan because most people dont actually mean Defund. They mean lessen the funds and spend them more responsibly else where.

Except the “Defund the Police” slogan doesn’t actually mean to completely cut their funds, it’s exactly what I just said, reducing and allocating, not abolishment.
If ppl stopped making knee-jerk reactions to the slogan and actually READ up on what the movement is about, they’d understand it. I thought the same til I read up on it
Less semantics, more getting to what the movement is actually trying to accomplish

Imagine if they didn’t use such a dumbass slogan for the movement and something more accurate lul.
Every time someone explains it, they start by saying I don’t mean literally defund.
Could’ve saved a lot of headaches if there wasn’t a hurdle from the get go.

Anything marginalized groups say when being killed, will always be viewed as ‘too much/radical’ when people let scumbags control the narrative instead of doing any research.
Medicare 4 All is seen as ((( SOCIALISM ))) and ((( COMMUNIST )))). Black Lives Matter is seen as too much as well. Doesn’t matter how they say it, it’ll be spun in any to demonize human rights.

This is this forum (albeit in smaller numbers since dipshits took a hike and/or got banned) and the U.S. at large still…in 2020…with the evidence.

Except many of the most vocal did mean defund. So whose controlling the narrative?
If it wasn’t called defund, they couldn’t hijack anything.
Happens to many different things. Not everyone has to like everything. Healthcare for all and BLM aren’t dumb slogans. Defund police is. Big difference.

Demilitarize, retrain, rebrand etc.
Could’ve went so many different routes and anyone that spoke against it would immediately look dumb.
Defund. Of course that gets the side eye cause it’s always explained well we don’t mean defund. And that’s if the individuals in questions don’t agree with defund.

Wrong. We’ve seen the words “Black Lives Matter” demonized, M4A demonized and the above pic I posted. I can use those because they pertain to here. Again doing homework on any of those would see the through the spin.
Should activists care more about semantics when they are getting killed, maced and illegally detained?

Rebranding, reform, re-training has happened and yet here we are…still talking about it…

It’s more than simple semantics and we have multitudes of videos and articles of activists who’re part of the movement literally saying they want defund.
It matters.

Not to the extent with which people want now.
Police have gotten and used more military grade equipment than ever before. Stop the clown shoes acting like we’ve had a movement this large focusing on retraining as protectors and not enforcers.
We have not had the laws of shoot first, desk leave later changed or put under a microscope. We have not had mental health of officers prioritized and not laughed. Mental health is still a joke to many.
Retrain, reform , etc has not happened.

Did you look into Defund the Police? Honest question. Everything other than Defund the Police has been said, so what other avenue do the activists have?
Reform hasn’t worked. Re-training hasn’t worked. Rebrand (LOOOOOOOOOOOOL) sure as fuck won’t work.
I’ll keep posting this until you guys watch it.

Which is why its a dumb slogan. I didnt say your position or thoughts where wrong. I said the slogan was dumb because it doesn’t mean what people actually want and has basically divided the nation on the issue based on slogan alone.
There are lots of far better ways to say this that would also be far far harder to attack then “Defund the police” is.

Obviously I know what the movement means you idiot.
This is in regards to those that don’t and simply see defund from the jump.
This has not happened in any meaningful capacity. You’re just spouting bullshit at this point.
Year after year police have gotten closer to being an army themselves. Shoot first is still a part of their training if they feel they are in any perceived danger real or otherwise.
Retrain, rebrand, demilitarize has not happened.
