I started beating Zeus’ ass and then 3 minutes in I remembered I had to parry but inside of just parrying I beat his anytime I could.
And I didn’t like how long the entire final battle took.
Just beat this on normal and it was a lot easier than gow1 and gow2. I only had a few days to play it so I wanted to get through it quick. Weren’t there more weapons/spells in the prequels? In 3 I pretty much used the Cestus for everything. I wasn’t too thrilled about the other weapons.
Even though it was too easy, the final battle made me glad I didn’t play on hard.
Man I can tell trying to beat this on Titan mode is going to be a major pain in the ass for me

The Scorpion fight. When it winds back the tail and slams the ground and I don’t get back in time, even though im at the edge of the cube, I get hit and kratos belly flop bounces, but the game thinks I 'm falling off the stage since Im near the edge. What happens is that I’m stuck in this falling motion at the edge of the cube until one of the smaller scorpions poke me and then im resetted and get back up. It’s dumb. I hated that fight… I hate using the Cestus because it follows close-by enemies.
Speaking of the Cestus I hated these gauntlets when I learned of them. Giant fist just aren’t as satisfying as swinging blades around. Nemesus Whip was alright with me, I liked it more than the Hades blades. The magic was good to cover large amounts of enemies, and I could lock enemies in the air by mashing triangle. The blade of hades was cool looking at the chains were more swingy and flashy but it lacked knockback so I always took a lot of dmg from using them.[/details]
my thoughts on the game

The Molten Cerebrus wasn’t hard to kill, those suicidal hounds pissed me off a lot, but I developed a pattern. Use the spinning Cestus Special L1+ Sq on the big guy, when a dog runs up to you. This will kill it and hurt the cerebrus at the same time. Once in a while, L1+Sq = hitstun for cerebrus, i just do this in a timely fashion an they get stuck in it like an RSF.
It took me a while to figure out you can grab a Satyr and kill it by impaling them with its own weapon after I did it accidentally. Then I realized why you always fought two at a time, because the grab requires you to have a tug of war for the weapon lol.
As for Gorgon Eyes, Phoenix Feathers and Minotaur Horns, they dumbed that shit down like mad, I remember back in GOW1 and 2 I found so very little of them, and I also noticed that you’ll find these giant chest in the same places you found them before (such as places you been to before). I found every chest on my first go without watching videos. If i can find every one that means its too easy. Im a shit gamer at platformers so I shouldn’t have found them all.
Despite the Infinite you can do on Zeus, I still find killing Poseidon was the most brutal. Beating Zeus had too many interruptions, such as the random stretch in Kratos’ mind. Speaking of the infinite the screen got covered in blood and there was no hit combo, I was wondering if I was supposed to keep going, but all you hear is the same thing so I figured it’d be kinda dumb if i had to do this forever so i stopped, and I was right… Funny enough Zeus had very little blood on him if Kratos’ vision was covered in blood. Chasing Hermes was fun, but he can’t fight so it was kinda lame. The end of Poseidon still has my vote for best ending of a god, esp. when the two soar through the air, tumble on the ground and Kratos transfers that momentum in a throw.
Upon letting Pandora into the flames, that was probably THE BEST shot of Kratos snapping with a yell that words cannot even describe. You know whatI’m talking about right? When you fight zeus with Pandora watching, and then her running to the flame only to be stopped by Kratos and then Zeus was like “Don’t Fail” which ticked Kratos off instantly and he goes “eeeeeeeeeeAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH”. Too bad all you saw was a single punch to the face. lol all that anger for one measly punch.
A war originally thought to be Kratos + Titans vs. the Gods, turned into Kratos vs. Titans vs. Gods. The hell happened? When the hell did Gaia actually plan to use Kratos as a pawn and how was it shown? How did Gaia even live til the end? One of her hands was chopped off, yet she had two hands to crush the podium Kratos and Zeus were on.
The Blade of Olympus = a Penis full of STDs. Think about it, it’s penetrated many many enemies, Gaia, Zeus and Kratos. All the bodily fluids transferred probably means the thing is covered in STDs. The end surprised me when Kratos said My Vengeance I was thinking he was going to say My Vegeance is Everything which i what was shown in the e3 trailer, but ends now makes a lot of sense because he stabs himself. Nothing to live for now that Zeus is dead. I was surprised when the game told me to wind up the swing with L2 and R2, “I’m really going to strike down Athena in this matterless state?!”, then he misses and does everything else on his own and I went 
shocking end!
Athena was planning to take over the world. Someone said so in one of the unlocked videos. She helped Kratos kill Zeus and demanded the power back he drawn from Pandora’s box. Then she got all upset when that power got released upon the world, *she was like those dead souls dont know what to do with it * which is in other words her saying she should have got that power back.
I just started playing this about an hour ago, and I’m fucking frustrated. ** GOD DAMN THIS FUCKING DOUBLE-JUMP!!!**
It wont work when I’m trying to jump over a chasm. I’m stuck at Hades right in the beginning of the game because I can’t double-jump over these 3 successive chasms. It works any other time other than when I’m trying to jump over a bottomless pit. I’ve died over 20 goddamn times because it wont work. I’m about ready to return this shit.
That sucks, I never really had that problem but I read of others having that exact issue. I died maybe twice like that, through the whole game. Maybe your setup is just bugged out, like the people that had R1 not functioning randomly.
errm…why don’t you just glide?
I’ve only had problems with double jump once or twice in the first day or so I was playing it. The glide really does help you get that extra distance that was needed, obviously. Don’t even try waiting for the 2nd jump…jump #2(+hold for the glide) should happen instantly after #1, and it seems to work just fine with that timing, imo.
I’ve started on Titan today. So far, the only rough part was Poseidon(*besides Zeus, he’s the most badass god in the game, imo) at the beginning…heh, I died SO many times to that guy since he does more damage, and a lot of those attacks seem difficult to avoid. The fight with Hades is easier to me. Heh, I even got that shameful screen…you know…where the game asks you “Do you want to switch to easy mode?”
Well, I finally got the Phantom of Chaos costume 2 or 3 days ago in my email…so I checked it out today. Of course, I don’t really want to use it until I have all the trophies. (*And just as I expected, here comes an annoying hassle of a situation…my infamous “King of Annoyance” friend will need my help as usual since surprise surprise he has absolutely no idea what his email password is. I bet he doesn’t even remember what his email “name” is either.) heh, Phantom of Chaos and Dominus are really the only cool-looking skins, imo…oh yeah, Forgotten Warrior looks alright too. It’s a damn shame that there is only 1 unlockable skin that’s in the game normally. I miss the days where stuff like that was your reward for beating the game on each difficulty or mode. Aint that a bitch that trophies and achievements are basically the ONLY “free” unlockables these days?
Trophies left to get: Titan mode, blind 100 enemies with Helios head and the 50 kicks to those hounds…and the “find all godly possessions”.
That wouldn’t work either, his wings would sprout for a split-second and then disappear. It’s as if I was hitting an invisible wall mid-jump.
I’m over it now though. Unlike most other games I’ve played that have a double-jump, you have to press jump again immediately after the first jump or it simply won’t work. I don’t like it at all, but at least I can go on enjoying the game now.

Just finished Titan mode and I’m gonna do chaos sometime this week. The hardest part was the cerberus and satyr fight, but once I got my strat down I breezed through it. Only thing bugging me is why I’m forced to sit through cutscenes and end credits, I’ve already clocked the game I don’t wanna watch them again. I had this problem in gow collection as well but at least you could skip creds on a new game.
Anyway I really enjoyed this game, it was an epic ride. It was a bit short, too easy to max out weps and stuff, challenges and treasures (mainly costumes) felt lacking but I loved it nonetheless. imo GOW 2 was the best in the series.
yeah I learned that too, I’m glad it wasn’t just me. I was getting frustrated not being able to do simple jumps. then it just clicked and I flew through the game.

Glitch does work, tested it a few days ago, a quick search on GameFAQs boards says it still works. Don’t get too ahead of yourself though (trying to do things you’re not supposed to, like breaking the judges early, the game will freeze).

EDIT: Got that Platinum thanks to the “new Game+” glitch, even without having infinite magic like it said I would have.
I’m playing on titan a little bit past the Hera puzzle, overall so far it’s definitely the easiest of the series and I could see how that would make others like the first two better especially since it’s a little bit more light on puzzles however, the puzzles themselves are very well designed and engaging difficulty notwithstanding and the combat is pure sex. GOW2 is one of my favorite games and so far I like 3 much much better.
Level 5 Cestus isn’t broken but it does make the already somewhat easy game a little easier. Just mash triangle FTW lol. The only truly hard parts so far was Poseidon and the Hercules but the game overall isn’t too easy I actualyl think it’s a perfect balance of being kinda hard in some parts and kinda easy in others.
God of War and Gears of War need their own acronyms. It’s easy to confuse the two especially when the new Gears of War game comes out.
