this is the first time I hear anyhing about ex gems taking up 2 slots? source?
…Right next to the name of the gem on the list.
The images themselves, hadn’t noticed it either:
thats his own blunder…lolz~ Thanks Jamp for letting people know that~ for what its worth tho…EX Gems are sort of 2 Gems in 1 anyways so it evens out in the end anyways…
“System is still in development and subject to change.*”
*but not fuckin’ likely
Pretty much. It’s still bullshit that people that pay for gems can get gems without drawbacks and/or easier activation conditions, though.
Thankfully, we can turn these sonbitches off. I had no problem with Gems before, but now I hate the activations and “DLC Gems,” which is still an absolute retarded way to use DLC. (They should’ve made Scramble Mode DLC at least. lol)
I cannot wait to troll the “No Gems; Ryu only; Training Stage” kids online.
Sigh… I swear this is karma for ripping on the Smash kids for so long…
pretty much thats the deal, tho the standard gems are pretty damn good if i say so myself…any Gem that activates via a Launcher is going to be good imo…Cross Rush is the main way people are going to tag in this game and having a Gem Activate when your partner lands a launcher means the incoming character will get a buff~ this is really good. im already thinking about the power and C.Gauge Gem that activates via this condition, your getting a plus for something that is easy as it says Launcher and not CrossRush…and we all know they Crush Lows in this game too…it makes it all the more reason to use.
another Gem Combo would be the 2 vitality Gems as they activate when you get hit with 2 special moves so…basicly any good combo in this game will activate them both…so combined with a character who has alot of health already…you can imagine how that is going to go…
IDK guys, this might really work out to be pretty sweet
I always liked customization in fighting games, anyone ever hear of or play:
Custom Robo Arena for DS?

I played it years ago and it was really fun. Fighter based on custom weapons and armor/speed etc.
So they confirmed the super easy input gem makes special moves 1 directional+button, a-la Smash.
Need we remind them that it goes against the basic design of 2D fighting, where moves like dragon punches and SPDs are not supposed to have an instant (read: reaction based) execution method?
If you want to break the game, this is the gem to check on day one.
Plenty of games to check out until TTT2:
SkullGirls, SCV, BBCSEX, VF5FS, to name a few - and KoF XIII is still godlike as ever.
Unless Alisa or any WTF-character is in, I’d gladly “ignore” SFxT for the above games.
well they have an additional effect tho. (20%dmg + 10% healing instead of just 2x+10% dmg) +only one condition to get the full effect instead of 2 different.
i’d pretty much reserved mostly whats on that list except for BB(i could never get into it) but SFxTK is the Triple A Fighting Game thats coming out early next year~ along with SCV~but sadly SCV will have a tough time making it inside my PS3 with FFXIII-2 on the table for the same day release…
They also confirmed that many attacks are unavaiable during super easy mode.
I do agree that we should be wary of them, but so far they sound like MvC3’s Simple mode - in other words, scrubby, limited, useless.
Only some command normals that overlap the new special inputs.
Zangief doesn’t care.
lol didnt even thought about that… O_O
Man, people are STILL having their panties in bunches with the gems and they’re not paying attention entirely. This is getting ridiculous. And I thought I had knee jerk reactions when it comes to anything involving programming.
@KingofSarus
Yeah, I think this is payback for the shit the FG community gives Smash. That being said, I still don’t think this will be anywhere near as bad as people are making it. The only thing we know is that these pre-order gems are going to be available as DLC - based on inference. We still have no word whether or not this stuff is available the Smash way. It may very well be. Someone needs to ask Capcom this question ASAP as this would affect the reception of the Gem System.
I love how the graphics look terrible because the characters look like someone vomited skittles all over them when gems are activated. Maybe we should call gems “skittle-vomit” or “skittle-barf”.
DLC gems are really not that more powerful than regular gems. Most dlc gems’ effects can be achieved through the normal gems costing around the same number of slots xD. IMO, dlc gems aren’t worth buying since I can get mostly equally stronger with the normal gems. So all in all, the dlc gems really aren’t overpowered.
There really shouldn’t even be a tournament ban on any gem.
I was expecting some speed gems to include (cancel higher level punches with equal or greater level kicks)…DOH!
Did anyone stop and think hmmmm easy imput gem. Maybe input latency isn’t as bad as sf4?
