We have fun, get salty, try and learn and all that other good shit. I’ll fess up to playing like a moron at times for funsies and just to see how you guys react so I can give you pointers there.
But god damn if there aren’t a million meandering players who just act like they’re the shit when playing online. You get midtierish players just doing goofy shit becasue they think they’re so good.
To be fair, SF5 does a great job of making mid level talent feel great about their gameplay. I can potentially beat people whom I have no business beating because of how this goofy game plays. So it just sort of lends itself to those attitudes.
Online has been so-so for me today. Some good games. Some shytty games.
Pert is accurate. There are a lot of niggas that have unimaginably huge egos online and in general when it comes to SFV. Why? I have no idea. I don’t think I’m hot shyt in this game, nor do I care. That’s why I have no issues running sets with Golds, Plats, Bronzes, or whoever asks. I see other dudes acting like they’re not only too good to play with certain people, but have a nerve to talk down to others.
It’s so funny to me. I don’t really get any hatemail like that anymore tho. In fact, the last one I got was from that weird Rashid that kept quitting and then stopped.
Like Will said all online games bring that out of people. SFV facilitates goofy/dumb behavior so you absolutely see a lot of it. Add in the normal ego flex that FGs brings out in people and you get what you are talking about.
It used to bug me a lot more but then I remember that the phrase “I was a fucking god at SFV online” is the FG equivalent of bragging about the time you scored the winning touchdown in your high school football game and I do my best to just shake it off and move on.
I used to say that those players are really going to be hurting when SF6 comes out and they have a rude awakening but I don’t have faith that SF6 isn’t going to similar goofy design decisions.

Yeah I’m interested in testing out known connections.
Based on what has come out about how Capcom updated the game I don’t think things are going to be better for me. For the good connections I had they probably won’t desync over time as badly which is nice, but I think connections to players like Akhos or you where things would get funky may actually be worse overall in the new implementation.
It does bring the wierdos out,a year or two ago I posted about a cammy player who beat me then randomly started sending messages about how bad I sucked etc etc. He didn’t even wash me they were close games, I figured he was messaging to run some more friendly sets.
Then I checked his psn profile and he bragged about how many Platinum trophies he had. His cfn should have gave it away it was “Nateisgod” or something lol
Pussy wouldn’t run no lounge sets tho.
