People are seriously sleeping on Vas, I think he plays like the Juggernaut in MSH. But a bit better so about mid, to high mid.
I don’t think he’s the best in the game, but def not the worst like I’ve seen him labeled.
Also the block OS is silly, actually alot of the os’s are silly. Hopefully they address it with the release of the next DLC character
And the block button kinda screws lancelot imo, he’d be much stronger if not for it protect against right left mix ups.
Zelda BOTW - the most disappointing part so far for me…
Spoilers
The Yiga Clan Base.
I understand the Divine Beasts being small dungeons (as they’re moving creatures that don’t house anybody), but when I first walked into here and saw, seemingly 7 different paths to take, I was happy to finally find a real dungeon. Then, lol, it turned out to only be a few, fairly uninspired rooms (the Yiga bass should’ve been much cooler with hidden traps, puzzles, and illusions and shit, etc), and a pretty weak and annoying boss.
I still love the game and am nearly done (estimate maybe 30 hours left to do everything I want to do), but that bit made me wonder if making dungeons wasn’t this team’s strong suit and possibly why they chose the design path they chose…
I still think the puzzles in the shrines were done really well though, so I don’t know.
I don’t agree that vanish isn’t strong outside of combos. The point is it’s too easy to force your way out of neutral.
I’m not talking about drastic nerfs. My suggestions are:
-super dash uses all air actions on block. You could still plow through everything but you couldn’t use it + assist for mixups offense as easily.
-Vanish -2 on block (from +2). Forcing the opponent to block something random full screen shouldn’t mean that you are now in their face at + frames. Likewise if you want to keep your turn on block you should be using assists. Being able to vanish lets the assist cool down and loops the situation.
On hit both would function exactly the same. The goal is, use more of your teams unique options in neutral, not the universal ones.
It depends a little bit on height. Sometimes you wind up minus.
And you are not without options. Contrary to popular belief you do have some strong defensive options in DBFZ, so it’s not as oppressive as it would appear in SFV terms.
Backdash beats a ton of stuff post vanish for example.
Go to Gerudo Town and get ready to fight the Beast.
Tip: if you’ve explored Gerudo Highlands/Watselands much, you’ve probably already explored the backside of it trying to understand what that hole is for.
He’s definitely slow, but I love big buttons. He also has a lot of great meaties and frame traps that are killer. imo he’s biggest flaw imo is his weak AA options at certain ranges.
I basically play him like abigail, I think Ladiva plays more like gief.
I doubt she’s going to be that hard to be honest. At most, she’ll be like 20% harder than the Rito Beast, but I doubt it. If you can beat a lynel right now, I’m thinking you can take her.
I’m almost there though and I’ll let you know. I just have a few things I’d like to do before tackling her. Should take me 2-3 playing hours and then I’ll head to her.
