honestly, i’m surprised. just from a tournament organizer perspective, i feel its a shame for GG players. in my experience they’ve been nothing but good for the community. it is good to see cvs2 back however; at the expense of GG is kind of hard to swallow

I am pretty shocked though seeing how CvS2 seemed pretty dead this past year. It just doesn’t make sense to me unless its somewhat ‘punishment’ for what happened to GG last year. I was at GG finals, and yes it was pretty empty compared to Tekken which was before it.
I’ll enjoy SFHD and Brawl though…have to admit I’m abit surprised they’re in it given they’re so new though…or even unreleased/untested.

Neither game deserved to really be cut, though CVS2 is sort of dying. On one hand, a dying game isn’t really good for the biggest game tournament and on the other hand, it’s a great game and not including it would probably just outright kill it.
I don’t need to go on about Guilty Gear. Anyone who can ignore all the games merits and complexities just because it’s some “anime weeabo” fighter is an idiot anyways. It’s a great game and pretty much represents the future of 2d fighter development.
Generally thought I think this whole situation was handled very unprofessionally. I could understand smacking around the Guilty Gear players for screwing up (Even though it’s been done to death), but the whole two day extra wait was a slap in the face for CVS2 players too… And it also brought out a lot of unnecessary hostility.
Honestly, I was expecting SF4 out of left field because of this, even though it seemed horridly unlikely.

In any case, I expect CvS2 finals to be at 11 AM, with the players being: Choi, Ricky, Justin, Buk, BAS, random 3 players (probably Mike Wakefield), and with MrWizard as the secret final boss.

Wizard already said it was likely this would be CvS2’s last year at Evo. I like the game, but it’s probable this will be it’s last year; the scene just isn’t up to standards anymore. ;(
