someone pm me with good “places” to watch for my “friend”
Maybe they meet them while they are wandering…
Otherwise idk how the hell they are going to have bran do what he does in the later books, unless the wildling girl ( who’s name is escaping me ) sets it in motion.
I loved Meera and Jojen in the books, such awesome characters.
Personally this show is better off for it’s divergence from the “616” (if you will…). The Walking Dead ignored a whole truckload of script and rearranged the plot-armor; it’s doing exceptionally well and is quite refreshing to be able to watch what is essentially the same story but feel like it’s the first time again. Regardless of such, "ASOS" is going to suck to sit through due to sheer length of the source material forcing it to be split into two new seasons.
Season 3 will definitely be the game-changer/breaker.
okay wow. i finished the episode and let me eat a big plate of crow.
some of the changes they’ve made are incredible. one in particular pisses me off, the one involving jaime. holy fuck that’s a little vexing
as long as ned doesn’t come back to life as a cyborg and enter kings landing on a jetpack and gun down tywin, i think it’ll be fine
I feel like they are setting up jaime to be a broken man before he ughhh… yeah well if you read the books you know what causes him to break.
I question a ton of the changes they make but when I sit and think about it at least they have a point, or I think it will have a point.
So I’m not going crazy and that was Cleos Grey/Lannister that Jaime murdered via bludgeoning?
I’m kinda happy I haven’t read the books yet. I know I’d be like “These changes are weird” too.
But I didn’t so I am just like “The Arya/Tywin scenes are the best part of the show” and “Where is Tyrion”
I did spoil a bunch of crap taking a wiki walk, and realized that a lot of the characters activity would have been way easier explained if they were cast by age.
Robb Stark is old as fuck. When Jaime was calling Robb a boy it was all “He is like 30 years old man, that ain’t no boy”
Whatever though, I am ignorant of most of the changes and enjoying it. I am eager for the show to get extra depressing though.
Edit - Jaime didn’t kill Cleos. That was some other Lannister guy?
Ser Alton Lannister, made up from whole cloth for the purposes of the series.
I like the new Mountain actor, he’s got a nice gravelly voice. I enjoy the way he says ‘the brotherhood without banners.’
The best part of the show for me is getting insight into the secondary, non POV characters from the books…I don’t mind the shuffling of events from the books, but they should make the seasons longer. Did it really say only 2 episodes left before next weeks preview?
well, looks like john snow shoulda raped her after all
Series is REALLY expensive. At least the next book is 20 episodes instead of 10.
Yeah, just miss seeing some of the characters for stretches, that was Jaime’s first appearance in 5 or 6 episodes. It’s not like True Blood where they drop plotlines with no closure or anything, just really enjoying many of the performances.
Also, shoutouts to Tywin for tricking a young girl into testing his food for him because he’s afraid of being poisoned
Here’s how I would have done the Jaime scene
[details=Spoiler]Again, the whole escape plot itself seemed poorly conceived, but i suspect it might have been a suicide attempt for jaime anyway. this matches his constant goading of his captors.
If it had to be changed from the books, I would have shown Jaime using the starstruck kid to play dead or sick or something.
Then, you have him leave Ser Alton behind while he makes his escape. Jaime convinces him that he’ll try to free him later, when he returns to his father.
Recaptured, both put under stronger guard. Jaime freed later by Cat after she hears about Bran and Rickon. Ser Alton slain by Karstark, leading to Robb hacking his head off. Problems in the North.[/details]
Who the hell is Karstark?
I don’t know like 80 percent or the characters. I want to say I feel stupid for it, but there are literally like 100 people on the show. Some are on for like 3 seconds but in the book they get an entire history.
Well now I know Karstark is the dude who is pissed about Jaime and wants to kill him. I didn’t even hear his name. Goddamned show with it’s goddamned white people who all look the goddamned same.
Karstark is a major family under the Starks. Like if the Starks are kings, then karstarks are like the dukes or w/e.
If you have HBO, fire up HBOGO, they have quite a bit of info on the characters, families etc.
Hi,
