Not sure where you are getting that idea, mercenaries are usually the most organized armies.

Particularly permanent standing mercenary armies, like the Second Son’s or the Golden Company.

Daario Naharis and the Second Sons aren’t necessarily on par with the Dothraki Horde, heck not even with The Unsullied imo.
GRRM hasn’t cleared it up but if there were tiers in Westeros regarding fighting prowess, the SS would be lower down the ladder from the Dothraki and Unsullied.

To be fair, they are organized and skillful but they are also in cahoots with Dany afaik.
I doubt Cersei has a secret, pocket army that she would be able to deploy on a whim.
Unless that pocket army were all Faceless Men…

I take back what I said, mainly because I think of random bands of people you hire, not entire armies (I didn’t consider a group of hundreds of people to be all under 1 group that you can hire).

Side note: Did Cercei get her gold, or did Daenerys stop some/most of the transport?

Snow has W’s, but a lot of his solo work comes from getting lucky breaks in a scramble.

Wouldn’t even have survived knife dude at Crastor’s Keep without the surprise Crastor’s daughter/wife assist.

Unfortunately, Cersei isn’t a natural leader/tactician like Tywin or even mentally well-adjusted for that matter.
Euron Greyjoy and his fleet would be the closest thing to a sizable force but then again, they’re dead in the water to Dany’s dragons.
At the end of day, Cersei isn’t clever enough to be able to go toe-to-toe with Dany or Jon at all even if she did have a competent fighting force to lead.

That’s why Jaime reluctantly admits to Cersei that they were royally fucked after getting rekt by Drogon and the Dothraki.

Maybe I can swap him and Beric. Beric has the experience edge, but is mostly famous for repeatedly losing badly.

Hound has randoms under his belt and got rekt by Brienne.

Snow is higher tier.

Hound lost to Brienne, but 1) Brienne is very high tier, and 2) the Hound was sick as fuck. Healthy Hound could throw down on par with his brother as far back as season 1.

Snow at best is on par with Jorah.

Hound was sick and it still took Brienne everything she had to beat him. She’s no slouch, but The Hound is up there.

Hound was sick, critically injured and also fatigued due to constant journey and still made A tier Brienne go ultra plus. As retiency says, he at least on par with the mountain and in their brief stand off actually managed to style on him.

Thinking about it, Jaime freaking out about the Dothraki was way out of character. The dragons sure, freak the fuck out over them. But the Dothraki don’t in themselves pose a particularly overwhelming threat. Nothing a seasoned veteran like Jaime hasn’t seen before anyway.

Shit, Jorah fucking Mormont beat a Dothraki champion in single combat, and Jaime used to be miles better than Jorah ever was.

key word there about jaime is that he /used/ to be better than jorah, with just his left hand he aint shit
