That was a huge responsibility to put on one kid. If he didn’t do the job right, the plan wouldn’t have worked. It would have made more sense if Lancel was swarmed by a bunch of them, but I guess they wanted some drama. [/nitpick]
Thinking on it, I think it was pretty risky having the kid lead Lancel down there in the first place. I mean, if Lancel overpowered the kid or the kid messed up, then yeah, he could’ve stopped the explosion entirely. They could’ve just led Lancel away until the Sept went up in flames.
It was terrible writing, just that 
I know it’s been said, but I loved how the musical themes for each of the different houses were weaved with one another or changed. Then, you have Cersei’s I’m a crazy bitch theme, with the cello reminiscent of fire dancing, playing when her plans to blow up the Sept take form and when she sits on the iron throne. Good shit all around for the finale.

jaime will be around for awhile as they haven’t played their jaime+brienne card yet, which they have dropped hints for a couple of seasons back.
it’s brilliant imo, jaime is unknowingly on a path to redemption since his character has changed over the course of the series whether he likes it or not.
the scene which bronn succinctly addressed if jaime and brienne were having sex in the tent was an obvious reveal for me.
