The thing about this season is that theyre just doing what everyone expected to happen leaving off from last season when thats rarely been what the show is about. The only curveball so far has been Rickon turning up at Ramsays. The writing is noticeably worse. Too many convenient things happening, ppl travelling crazy fast all of the sudden. Also the dialogue is waaay subpar ( ANOTHER EUNICH JOKE!). The acting and the production values are still there it just all seems less interesting somehow.
Oh the Greyjoy siblings would certainly have a field day with Ramsey. Honestly he’s been getting away with too much for like, 3 seasons already?

The most fitting “likely” thing to happen to Ramsey is having whatever unit he leads against Snow’s men getting captured by the Thenn contingency (if they are a part of the wildling troupe that heads to winterfell) and gets eaten, slowly.

Show creators have gone on record and said there’s only 13 hours of story left to tell and they want the last two seasons shortened to 7 and 6 episodes. HBO hasn’t signed off with the idea but as it currently stands they are already cutting it close finishing 10 episodes every year. Regardless, whether we get 13 or 20 hours of Thrones the story needs move on to Dany’s invasion from the East and the White Walkers’ invasion from the North.
What this means is Ramsay’s character and subplot is irrelevant to the end game. As much as we’d like to see him get tortured, he’ll probably get a quick death to wrap things up. I’m guessing he’ll die fighting Jon in the upcoming Northern battle. Starks take back Winterfell but the Night’s Watch is destroyed by White Walkers.
Boltons have 5000 men, Wildlings 2000, add in the Vale army and whatever numbers the rest of the Northern Houses have. A lot of them are going to die fighting and I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re resurrected as zombies before Jon can burn all the dead.

Going through my game of thrones histories book, the boltons were pretty much the black sheeps of the north. They were the last to bend the knee to the Starks, and pretty much have always been the most hated of the north.
What if Ramsey didn’t write the letter, instead one of the great northern houses did, with hopes of provoking him.
Also don’t forget Ramsey killed a Frey girl, there is no love loss between the Freys and the Starks but killing a Frey princess can’t going over well.
Also with the theories that house Aryn would betray Sansa seems off. Iirc the guy that almost flew was very loyal to jon Aryn and faught alongside Ned during Roberts rebellion. His pride being hurt wouldn’t be enough to go against his honor.
