The G1 Experience (PSN)

-______________-;;

Wait…that’s how it goes down? There’s no real discussion or anything?

I don’t know about that. Win or lose Vofam gives me GGS.

I don’t take it too serious. G1 is simply more grinding. Honestly I’m at my most mindless playing G1 matches. Just win your first match and it’s free points.

I’m probably going to drop G1 altogether. You wait years for a match and half the time the person you end up playing isn’t even good.

The new system doesn’t weed out those who aren’t skilled, just those who aren’t committed. As long as you put in the time you will get to G1 regardless of skill.

Yup, G1 sux :(. It takes ages to find a game, and even so its 1/2 bars.

I’m going to Disneyland!

I made it into G1 yesterday. Played against and recognized a few of the names listed in this thread. Aldagod is in my friends list, saw him back in G2 in a finals match (I won, woot!) when he had around 14k GP. Looking forward to matching up with the rest of you guys and girls.

So far, I think the competition is the upper 80% of what G2 had to offer. I’m not surprised at this, considering the grade setup and the usual G2 competition. Yes, I suppose anyone can grind their way from G2, but it’ll take forever for the people who can only win the first found (5 points at a time, good luck with that). Thus far, good times, as I’ve had to keep on my toes against the good peoples. Took me my 4th or 5th try to make it up to and beat a finals match. Damn 20k punks dropping me out of the running in the 1st or 2nd rounds. 161 points for the win!

GGPO

Edit: Oh, and yes, finding matches is not fun. I’m a patient person though, G1 will have MANY more people to play against in the following months.

Yeah I’ve had over 11,000 total shaved off me. This mode is asssssssssssss~

Well, after using the DNS fix earlier this week, I stopped losing all my GP and have managed to get into G1. Looking forward to playing some good competition (as good as it can be online anyway).

Okay… there is no-one in G1. the number of times I have waited half an hour or more for someone to play is fucking ridiculous. Connections are much worse, inputs don’t get recognised and random slowdown is everywhere. That said, there are some pretty good players Ambroxious is a good Claw, Big Eyes is an okay Ken, gammon…something… is a good boxer. Maybe it’ll be better in the evening, but there aren’t enough players in G1 to make regular tournaments.

One more thing - watch out for MagicSolarStance. He plays an okay gief, but he drops - I was beating him down in the second round pretty bad and he dropped.

PSN network is horrible, MagicSolarStance doesn’t drop, If you press start in between rounds theres a chance it will Disconnect when the game tries to sync. Even at that there are some people with 1 bar connections that have little to no lag even if it does it barely effects our gameplay unless its really that bad, like kazu1310 he doesn’t lag as often as some people hes sitll playable.

G1 is still fun, But there are times where I don’t even try to win because I’m exhausted when it gets late at night some matches become repeatative and too easy and boring…I only play serious when I get to finals or semi, First 3 matches are no importance unless Im against people I enjoy fighting against, like Aquasilks/Magicsolarstance’s giefs with my Gen at least they are entertaining, same goes for the few other fun to play top rank g1 players.

Theres only 500ish people in g1, expect it to be slow…Its not like g2 where theres 18k+ people…G1 will be slow until we get at least 2k people who play daily in g1 like when champ mode first camp out and barely anyone was in g2.

As for now SG will be a long road to be in and when you reach it it will be months…before it becomes active…
G1 Chat room is more of a hang out talking about stuff while at the same time trying to speed things up with g1 matches…
Most of us in the chat room just BS all day while beating people up and trying to figure out whose near finals or semi to get points quicker…

I’m taking my time getting at least a thousand points per day that I play and take a break for lil while so I don’t get to SG too quickly…

Even though it may be boring or slow, what can you expect when only handful (200-500) people can win 4 matches consistently against anyone in g2? There only so many decent players out there who win consistantly with their character, which is why Champ mode is great for filtering out the good from the bad.
I seen people try so hard to win matches back to back, but keep losing those people will eventually reach g1 in couple months but when they do they will be pumpled into the dirt by g1 players(Already seen people who are under the 15k g1 entry and still losing,
The rest of us only took us a week to reach g1 can win 5 matches in a row no problem and will reach SG sooner then the rest of the pack.

Haven’t seen ya in a while goz, Shin , at least your rose is entertaining to play Luffy I might start getting serious against you ;), Aldagod did you Block me? Most of the time I can never join you or get kicked…

G1-D is only 5k points(20k) to get while C is 10k to get (30k)… Meh won’t take me long to reach G1-A(50-60), Almost 22k I’ll hit top 10 in a little while i need to catch up to Vofam, I want my rank back…

…it should be easy to get to g1 for “Pros” It should be fun not even take that long they did it in Rank matches with BP, like it only takes a week in champ mode for g1, i mean if you play SF4 Wouldn’t you just be able to beat everyone ass online regardless of little lag? Its a shame for PSN that non of the well known pros plays on the PS3 version…I know maybe 4 pros that play online on Xbox360 but everyone else don’t

yo, Redwolfx, played you a few times today. You’ve got a nice Gen.

Aquasilk has a quality gief. But you’re wrong about MagicSolarStance, he is a dropper; he didn’t drop between rounds, he dropped towards the end of the second when he had little health left. He admitted dropping. And he’s done it before:

Sorry man. I thought he was a pretty decent gief too, up until he dropped and started sending spam hate mail.

There’s a G1 chat room? Wait, there are chat rooms on PSN?

You’re right, I shouldn’t expect G1 tournaments to be lightning quick when there are so few people in G1. Still frustrating as hell though. I made six finals today, and for all of them I had to wait about 40 minutes for someone with a decent connection to come along and play.

Oh, I should give a shout out to:

Santoredentor, good to play you again, great Gouken

Yamor, nice fei as always, shame about our 2 bar connection

Farimqureshi, best Ryu I’ve played - annihilated me in our last game

BrazucaBra, good Blanka, was great playing you in two finals today - cannot believe how close they both were

Hideki Minora, great Sagat, great playing you twice today - close matches

@ Redwolfx: What happened yesterday? I finally start to figure Gen out and you drop. =$

@ Dantemundus: Good shit.

G1 is aight. Everyone is like 2 bars though, so I end up not playing people and just wuitting the game. Rose needs a break anyway:rofl:

That sucks, Its a first i’ve seen man, I haven’t seen him do it even thoguh its Gen vs Gief fight, My game sometime doesn’t get synced either due to lag or something, like when you try skip the end of the first gight to go to the next fight. People have this issue on psn network.
If game doesn’t sync it disconnects… its the PSN bs servers…

Thats what happen Hideki, We still fought shortly after, and we fought today it hink?

My DC rate is always 0% then I would get 1% back from BS PSN errors, and it will eventually go back to 0% after a while

If you see me on we can always fight sometimes I host the Championship rooms to speed things up, usually on 2pm-10pm on certain days, depending how much time i got to play. Sharing PS3 with a brother that also plays SF4 0_l2ambo_0.

first impressions of G1: played a laggy match with a boring gief, moved on to round two, played a french Rose player who was pretty good but lost in the final round due to eating a super that I couldn’t block as it was coming towards me in the 1-bar lag . I should have just held back during the freeze

Granted it’s late, hopefully I’ll be able to find someone in North America to play tomorrow night haha.

It’s not big deal, I just don’t care about people disconnecting anymore: If it’s a conexion failure, well… shit happens. If not, whatever, I was gonna beat the guy anyway.

I kinda wanted to finish the match tough. I’m terrible against Gen, and that was a nice opportunity to finally get a match straight.

PS: I think I’ve also played your brother. Uses Ryu?

Nah my bro mostly uses Sagat for champ mode, hes working on few other characters now

after this weekend. gozhard has been made a believer.

offline > online

G1 = practice. if that.

close thread.

Pretty much.

played a lot of games today, and there are some decent players in G1. someone else said it before, you have to play at your best in every match,or you’ll lose - I was playing shit today, and lost way more times than I should have.

I’m also ashamed to say that I dc’ed on one guy - he had a decent seth, but the connection was so jittery I could barely move. I apologised for it and offered him a free victory as compensation - didn’t hear from him.

Online is nowhere near as good as offline - this is well known. But I reckon I can learn a lot playing online, especially in G1.

if the connectio is SUPER laggy and you can’t even perform a simple QFC+…then fuckit, DC. but make sure its early in the first round. thats my opinion
