The Futurama Thread V.1

I saw the 2nd half of the killer app episode, and all of the Lethal Inspection one. I felt they were kind of weak.
The former seemed to just be catching up for lost time with the pop culture references.
The latter was just weakly put together, overly contrived, and felt rushed. Most of it could have been more coherent and funny too, without changing much. Futurama is know for being illogical for laughs, but it took it too far for the series, especially since none of it was for any real jokes.

My 101 cents in base one.

the new episode MORE than makes up for the last one (killer app was good though, due to the awesomeness of Mom).

about the new one:

[details=Spoiler]The Statues of Liberty fucking KILLED me. I mean absolutely killed me. This spoiler is from beyond the grave.

Also, what was written in the alien language on the books Bender was tossing into the fire? I’ve always been terrible with deciphering Futurama’s language jokes (with the alien language they invented)

and now to actually FINISH watching it lol

Poor Bender making them miss that awesome era with the beautiful women.

I’m really liking the new series so far. Though, alot of episodes seem to be hit or miss for me, like there’ll be one good episode followed by another not so good one. Though the past 2 have been pretty decent.

Fertility Banquet, Bender you s.o.b.

Been watching the new season myself (Streaming since it isnt in Canada yet :frowning: ) it’s been pretty good.

Favourite episode so far was Killer App, but this week’s was pretty good, Bender remarking on the pile of skulls was jokes.

the freeze frame joke reads

Backwards Time travel made easy

I knew it was going to happen but I was still pissed when it did.

This episode was kind of depressing as it proves that their universe is just a revolving door of events.

Latest episode was great. The song that played while they were going through time was amazing.

The song is so epic.

I had no idea it was a spoof of an actual real song from way back in the days.

I thought “The Late Philip J. Fry” was one of the best Futurama episodes ever. The current season was hit or miss for me, but this episode let me know Futurama is really back.

^_-;

They parodied that song really well.

yeah, i lol’d at the 252525 part.

anywho, I am much happier they wrote their own parody song for it. Simpsons do lots of their own songs, shouldnt be TOO hard for Futurama to do it.

And while walking around today, i had the “in the year 1million 1/2, humankinds enslaved by giraffes” stuck in my head

Every Sci-Fi Reference Ever In Futurama - UGO.com

new episode was quite meh. Seemed a little too rushed, or it was a good idea that was never fleshed out properly.

I liked it. It could have been tighter, but the robot dinosaurs attacking Fry made me laugh.

^Ditto. I liked it a lot more than the one before it that was Amy & Nibbler based.

I like how Bender was right all the time. I’m not sure if anyone else caught it, but when he said what if a robot was the one who created the universe/life was referring to the giant nebula-cloud-god thing.

That year 2525 song was also used in Gentlemen Broncos, which is what I thought of when I saw it heh

Tonights episode was the funniest one this season. These past few episodes have been really spot on to what good Futurama episodes are made of, even when they don’t contribute to the story. It’s more than confirmed that Fry and Leela are dating now that they’ve had sex as the Professor and Zoidberg. I was definitely expecting to see some permanent body switches though. And if I can record the episode, i’d like to write out the process of getting everyone back into their original bodies. Can’t be the only who wants to know it.
