The Football (Soccer) Thread - Season 2017/2018

I literally feel sick to my stomach after that. Nothing is going to make me feel better for a while. I don’t know what to say. I now truly know what dejection feels like.

Never going to happen anyway, so don’t need to get too torn up about it.

I thought overall it was an exciting game, and I’m happy with how we played.

Keeping in mind that we shouldn’t have even been in the semifinal the tourney was still a success overall.

CHINGARON A SU MADRE!!
3-2 VAN A SOAR CON lUCIO.

well, that was an entertaining match.

oleeee ole olee oleeeeeee, oleeeeeee, oooleeeee

viva futbol!

BLLLLLLLLLLAAAAAAAANNNNNNNKKKKKKKKA.

I suppose that’s why they’re Brazil and we’re USA. We game them a hell of a game though. Next up, Wold Cup qualifier in Mexico in August.

good shit to howard on that award. dude is a beast. the way the US plays they would never had a chance if they didn’t have a great goal keep.

Man Fuck Brazil.

We don’t even play Soccer anyways.

Let the United States actually take Soccer as a serious sport, and this shit is over.

DONE WITH

For the rest of the world.

USA!!!

fuck brasil. someone needs to bribe god again to help out ala maradona.

Dejection is natural feeling when you’re up 2-nil and let in three goals consecutively. It should have been four, in fact, with the one obviously in the goal but not called.

All Brazil goals were just bad marking by the defenders. The first, just a good quick turn by Fabiano, but the other 3 were free headers. US definitely has to pick up some better fullbacks, as they were getting burned especially towards the end. Especially with Brazil’s attack fullbacks, I counted so many frickin crosses from Maicon it was ridiculous.

Man I still can’t believe these motherfuckers lost :frowning:

Good Game USA.

Man the USA needs to start taking this shit seriously. We dominate everything else. Why the fuck can we not go Russian on these motherfuckers, and bring up a bunch of test tube babies and train them to dominate the world in Soccer?

Matter of factly, my first born son is not going to have a life. I’m going to train him to destroy the rest of the world in Soccer.

Ughhhhhhhhhhhh I’m sooooooooo angry.

^^ Cuz the things USA dominate in, it’s not a world sport.

Soccer is that shit. USA needs to step up.

Pretty much comes down to all our rly good talent going into either football or basketball(Get that Money). Now if MLS paid money like those dudes in europe are making and they had a better youth program we would own.

Like Olympic medals?? Last time I checked (just now) we crush the world in all-time medal count. We’ve got more than enough talent, but our kids have access to many more popular sports & opt to excel in those instead.

… for better or worse. Just calling it like it is.

Baskeball is somewhat of a world sport (US, Europe, China), and the US dominates in that (won FIBA tournament before winning gold in the Olympics).

That’s not happing any time soon (if ever). MLS teams are just starting to make profits, and all contracts are handled by the league. It may take many years before they can allow teams to offer that kind of money.

You may be thinking “David Beck…”, first off, fuck that douche. Second, a lot of that $250 million deal was from advertisers. And I’m pretty sure he hasn’t appeared in any advertisements since.

The money is one thing, but culturally I don’t think the United States is ready to accept Soccer either especially when…

  1. The Game has ties… Of the 4 major sports(Football, Basketball, Baseball, Hockey) there is always a winner. In rare circumstances there may be a tie in Football, but those come once every several years.

1a) The United States still hasn’t fully embraced hockey, and that Sport has more violence, physicality, and speed than Soccer will.

  1. Lack of scoring- Self explanitory, which also leads me to

  2. Length. Due to the game being played in straight halves, there is no time to take a break, so if you gotta shit, you may just end up missing a goal.

  3. The United States plays it’s own Sports, so that’s just another hump to get over

There’s so much more.

If kids in the United States actually saw how Cristiano Ronaldo was living, maybe they’d be motivated to actually pick up a Soccer ball.

For what it’s worth in the United States, Soccer is still the most played youth game. It’s just that a large majority of those youth, go out and play other Sports where’d they’d actually get some recognition, and maybe even a chance at making good money if they have the skills

man it was a heartbreaking for me

If we were down 3-0 and comeback to lose 3-2 then it would of been perfectly fine with me. The thing that piss me off about the game was that we were up 2-0. Talk about being feeling dejected after the game.

     almost blew snot missiles.

Butt it’s true though.

Pretty sure Guile vs. Blanka is in Blanka’s favor, right? Oh well…
