Football is so fast and defence very strong these days. The attacker typically does not have time to adjust the ball’s position before shooting, and so most of the time has to shoot on the first touch. So the striker may be running at the wrong angle, must shoot with the wrong foot, doesn’t have time to think, etc… There are really pretty few good strikers in soccer.
