Yea it seems Stone Vigil was just not in the card today Khayen heh. After you disappeared we left the dungeon and I went to crafting. Got Black Smith to lvl 22. Forged some new gear for my armorer, bought some supplies. Sittin pretty in that regard, I just hope my stuff in the markets starts selling soon or I dunno what I’m gonna do for money for supplies. I kinda feel like too much of the crafting classes require supplies from gathering classes and or crafting classes. Like even I get Aldgoat skin, I need a leather worker to make it into something I can actually use. Same with Lumber. Friend of mines a Botanist and sends me tons of logs, but there was nothing i could do with them till i found a Carpenter to convert them into Lumber for me.
I dunno, i just feel like being able to craft consistently I either need to be a boss in the Market (Which I don’t seem to be, my stuff hardly ever sells even when marked down a good deal) so i have a steady stream of income to buy supplies with, or i need to buddy buddy up with every one of the other crafting and gathering classes for supplies, or join those classes myself which is just time pulled away from the crafts I actually want to do.
Basically craftings starting to become a real pain in the ass and real drain on my wallet and I need to figure out how to get over this hump. I’m gonna start selling supplies like Ingots and plates, i just need to figure out how to make sure they sell. I think I’m gonna sell em in more managble batches then most other people seem to be selling that stuff for. When I look in the market the bundles to seem to be either 1 piece of supply for a retarded price (500 bucks for 1 Aldgoat leather piece is stupid), or they sell them in packs of 50 or 99 for like 30k+. I think if I sell bundles in 10, 20 and 30 groupings I might be able to out perform the other people in the market since the prices and amounts are more reasonable.
We shall see.
Got White Mage today. Then ran Thousand Maws, which was pointless because it syncs you down to 27. I’ve got catch up on my main quest line so I can do some new stuff.
I have a question. You know that giant chat bubble that pops up in the middle of screen when you’re doing main/class quest with a NPC? Is it resizable and movable? It kept popping up during the WHM quest, and it’s getting super annoying. Moving it would be nice, but I’d really like to move it AND make it smaller.
Also, where do you turn in those tin/silver pieces that you have the option of getting as a quest reward?
One last thing question. During my Thousand Maws run, the tank died because I wanted to try Cure II, only to realize that it wasn’t available because of level sync. Is there a macro that I can make that casts Cure II if it’s available (ie. I’m not level synced below 30), and otherwise casts Cure I, so that I don’t watch the tank die?
I’m starting to see a pattern here. Every time I party up with arora, I always DC. And so does everyone else!!

As for the heal macro, ahh, I guess you could do something like
/ac “cure II” <t>
/ac “cure” <t>
should cast cure II if it’s available and if not then normal Cure.

I’d also add, that for combat techinques, putting in /wait 2.5 between those 2 lines can let you collapse whatever your normal rotation is into one button. I also have a /echo macro that can cancel my main macro at any point, so I can put up my two instant dots and then my 3 cast dots with acn, and then when the instants are almost up I can refresh my instants, cancel macro, can heal or whatever, and then redo all my dots when they start to get low.
Macros are your friend, I think you can do like 20 lines, which means you might be able to also do craft macros. Idk about that.

I don’t use macros… Too lazy to do them as of right now, I’m sure once I start leveling my gld/pld I’ll learn how to make them again.
I remember what I was gonna ask. If you guys are gonna start using skype, then should I play with a controller? I was wondering cause I kind of hate not being able to easily move around while hitting my hotbar buttons.

Why don’t you just look at the bar to see if it’s available? The only time you’ll lose spells is when you have to sync for fates or dungeons, and it really shouldn’t matter during fates, so whenever you start a dungeon, check to see if it sync’d you down (that golden S icon will be next to your level) then scan your spell bars.
Also, wait till you get 35 for Regen. Makes healing way easier when you’re with baddies.
Titan fight was fun, as was Qarn. Laser boss was a blast.
