I love leveling fisher class. Much like modern QTE gaming you only have to press 2, sometimes 3 buttons and awesome things happen on screen. In the case of FF14 the awesomeness is getting 5k xp per HQ catch. What I do is check so sound plays when window is inactive, press a button to cast line then I go and do something else on the PC, after I hear the sound of a fish biting the line, switch back to game and press another button to reel in and xp. This is easier than pressing tab+1 when fate grinding because I can stand in one spot and not have to call my chocobo and ride back to a sanctuary in between fate pops.
Managed to go from 25 to 30 today and have smn/sch unlocked. Fairy’s are so cute. Also, healing potency of 300 and damage reduction for 30secs :3
The quests though. I defeated ifrit right? Why am i serving soldiers tea? Why am I delivering wrapped lunch boxes to workers?(which suspiciously look like the old man’s chicken lunch from Chrono Trigger 1000 A.D.)
Got my character up to 19 conjurer, 15 arcanist. Healing dungeons is pretty boring right now. I spend most of my time dealing damage. The only thing that makes it interesting is people new to MMOs screwing up, especially new tanks. Had one guy chase the Captain in Sastasha. They ended pulling a ton of mobs, which was pretty funny and resulted in a hell of a party chat rant from another person.
Still no word back on my account. I did get an email from Square saying “We’ve got your ticket and will get back to you in 2 business days.” Unfortunately, that was more than 2 business days ago
@nothing: the healing will change. If you’re just at Sastasha, the game is still “teaching” you how to play. When you start to get to Thousand Maws and Haukke, you’ll start to be challenged a little more due to things like AOE poison, lots of aggressive adds, areas around mobs/bosses that you can’t stand in, etc. Nothing world-changing, but it definitely does get more interesting, especially because there are no instant-cast heals/HoTs/shields, so you often have to choose carefully between “Shit this poison egg just spawned next to me but the tank is below 50%, do I move or heal?”. Like those anti-bullying commercials, “it gets better.”
Ok so i was going to make this post last night but i got sleepy.
Regarding chocobos as companions.
As their level is matched with yours, the exp needed to “Rank up” is also matched with yours.
In simpler terms if you start using them a lot at lower levels they rank up faster.
I have not tested this with sub classes/jobs and i have no idea if they can be summon using Desciple of the field/hand to rank up that way or not.
Also no they cannot max every tree and you are stuck once you select a skill.
Which is activated depending the the “Stance”
I do no think you will be able to reset their skill points but i think you be able to work with this system via the rumored chocobo breeding mechanic related to housing.
