It’s Ellone. But yeah, it was hard as fuck to get the Laguna card.

Card Mod broke the shit out of FFVIII, you could be Lionhearting people’s faces before you even fight Seifer and Edea in Disc 1.

Yo, Barrett is bad as shit. I love this motherfucker. What a hardass.

How did you guys get Omnislash you can’t get it until you get to the Golden Saucer and that’s a good deal after Shinra Mansion.

Are you playing VII for the first time?

You can actually learn Omnislash, IIRC. It just takes longer than it does if you get the item.

I played it once in 2006, but for some reason, I remember almost nothing aside from hating it. Playing it three years later I’m enjoying the absolute shit out of it, so I’m gonna go ahead and assume that three years ago, I was an emo faggot.

I did not know that :wow:

First time I played FFVII was after I bought a **black label **copy for $16.

I imagine the price of it will go down from it’s absurd high now that the PSN version is out.

Really? I have never heard this or ever seen it happen and I played the shit out of FF7…

I just got done playing that motorcycle minigame. Holy shit.

Games about to get good for you then.

I just got past the second boss battle(Airbuster or whatever his name was) with mr. Shinra Pres. Is it bad that Cloud is level 11 and Tifa and Barrett are 7 and 9 respectively? I’m looking for a place to buy some more materia, and I gave Aerith the titan bangle.

My party is fifteen-fifteen-fourteen and I just fought Rufus for the first time.
Red/Cloud/Barret seems pretty good.

To clarify I meant like all the way to Finishing Touch. Never got Omnislash till later on, and I always believed that it must of been taught than learned. I’m just as surprised as you guys are that it’s possible to learn so early.

The manual was like 32,000 BP I think. At that stage of the game, it’s just impossible to win all 7 battles without some sort of luck. Every battle they handicap you, and since there’s no ribbons or nothing you’re fucked.

so did the graphics get upscaled for FFVII?

To the best of my knowledge, they did not.

Oh well, I’m still buying it.

If I’m not mistaken, the PS3 will automatically upscale any PSX/PS2 games. That doesn’t necessarily imply that they’ll look better, though?just not “blurry.”

The easiest way to compare is to compare a PSX game on PS3 to a Wii game, using the same HDTV. The Wii game will most likely look better, overall, but the PSX game will still look crisper due to upscaling.

EDIT: Some non-polygonal PSX games look fuckin’ sweet on PS3, though. SaGa Frontier 2 looks great.

You certainly won’t get it cheaper by any other means.

It does. From a graphical standpoint, Final Fantasy VII has aged poorly, but the graphics aren’t outright bad.

I think it’s actually 51,200 BP before you get Highwind. And I’ve gotten it in disc 1, battle arena difficulty is overrated imo. Most times the slots don’t have too much of an effect on the battle, and you won’t be fighting retarted enemies until near the end of disc 2.
