I went in at level 22. I’m now level 65, no point in going back that far. Just hoping for a patch at this point.

I only hate 11 and beyond!

I like it. It’s a lot of fun. I didn’t have impossibly high hopes for it tho.

Game is fun but I am trying to figure out how dudes just blasted through it so fucking fast lol.

Like damn I kept getting sidetracked by all kinds of silly things in the game, hell I barely got to the leviathan part. The only reason I even have so much play time is due to leaving the game running all the time. Just from what I have played though it is awesome and the right dlc can make this game a real classic and set the bar for jrpg’s in the future.

Everyone in this thread but two people are enjoying the game and have positive things to say about it. If you think one comment justifies your hate and makes you right…then I guess.

I just did more of the story shit then the side shit, but I wouldn’t say I’m done, not at all, I am honestly stoked to have the story over with becaue now I can just totally focus on the side content. Gonna be dope. There’s still so fucking much to do.

I don’t think most people aside from Exposed were “crazy hype”

In some ways it surpassed my expectations greatly, fell short in others, but overall it feels like a real, modern JRPG and is a ton of fun. I think it’s best to just not have any expectations and take it for what it is because if you really want to be a hardass about it it’s very different from other FFs but I definitely get the same kind of feeling that made me like the early ones. It’s not quite there, and DLC may help, though I think I agree that it might require an entirely new game to flesh out the direction this went, but it’s close enough to be a ton of fun, and really, this is the first AAA JRPG we’ve had in a LONG time, that’s also overall quite fun, and seems to be for many people.

Last great JRPGs were an entire generation ago IMO

dude this is more like ff7/8/9 than 10. you’re missing out mother fucker

Yea last JRPG I really enjoyed before this one was Persona 4 Golden and that’s an updated release of a PS2 game.

Nothing about the new Star Ocean grabbed my attention so I passed and it soundss like I made the right decision there. I hated FFXIIII so much I nevrrr made it past the 6 hour mark.

Most jrpgs that come out these days seem to be really meh get titles that are directed at a very specific demographic and I’m not that Demo at all so I don’t play them anymore. FFXIV was a lot of fun for the 9 months I played but that’s an MMO completely different from a JRPG so yea.

Welp, I read up on and figured out summons for the most part. Who you get and what attack they use depends on several variables, like the landscape you’re fighting on and the status of your other party members.

Titan helps you out in wide open areas. He Doesn’t show up in fields and the like, but he will show up out in the overworld. He has two potential moves: he’ll either punch the ground or toss an enormous rock your way. This depends on where you are.

The summons appear partially at random, but each has a trigger that sets them off. The randomness is supposed to give these Astrals a feeling that they have a mind of their own. Titan is more likely to appear when your allies are downed. So long as you’re in a space where he can appear, the more of them that are downed the more likely it is his summon prompt will appear.

Ramuh will come to your aid pretty much anywhere in the world - indoors or outdoors. Makes him a pretty common summon to see. He grows more and more likely to appear the longer a battle goes on.

Leviathan is by far the least likely summon to appear, sadly, it will only show up when you’re doing battle in an area close to large bodies of water. Noctis also has to be in Danger Status - when your health is out and the screen is tinted red. The longer you’re in danger status, the more likely it is to appear.

Shiva is weird. Apparently she only has a chance to show up when all the conditions of the above summons are met, except for needing a body of water of course. So basically: party members knocked out, battles running long and Noctis in danger state. It doesn’t have to be all three at once, but basically as these conditions stack up and last for longer, she becomes more likely to appear.

Lastly, apparently you can summon Carbuncle too (that little white fox from the tutorial) but you have to have beaten the Platinum demo for FFXV from start to finish. It then detects your save file and unlocks her. Don’t quote me on this one though, haven’t seen any evidence to support it.

That’s interesting. I’ve actually gotten Shiva 3-4 times now just playing normally, Leviathan once, Ramuh a bunch of times of course, but I’ve never once seen Titan

No info on Bahamut or Ifrit?

I’ve summoned Carb multiple times, in fact I tend to get that summon the ist and she can appear anywhere. She just gives full health to the whole party.

Bahamut summon us fucking tits.

ifrit? ifrit don’t give a fuck about you

Bahamut and Ifrit are not currently summonable in the over world, unfortunately. Just in the story. Maybe with DLC that’ll change.

Also, holy shit, I guess Carbuncle actually is a real summon.

Yeah having other games being on systems I don’t give a shit about doesn’t help either. I really wanted to try Xenoblade Chronicles X, but I wasn’t wasting time buying a console being replaced lol. Maybe if it plays on the switch I will grab it, since I do think the new zelda is a system seller.

12 is great, heathen!!

The game is so good

and

this track is so good

I’m waiting for that 16bit trailer like 13 got…

Yo this is my fav battle theme tho

Gives me a bloodborne vibe. Yoko has come a long way since Street Fighter 2 lol. Guess she did a lot of polishing off with Kingdom Hearts, Legend of mana, and lord knows what else.
