Soldier of Peace is way better than Cloud’s garb. It turns Heavy Slash into Artemis’ Arrows, which is arguably the strongest physical attack in the game. It does fool damage regardless of the enemy being staggered or not, and it’s damage scales with Heavy Slash. You can equip your own, unlike Cloud’s which comes pre-equipped and therefore locked at a certain level.

Is that an official square product or some shitty fanfiction?

Does that become available after a certain point or is it a quest reward of sorts? I’m actually still trying to replace Black Mage as well. Rapid Fire, and Quick Freeze are really good. Coupled with Element you get from killing the last Gremlin, and this one staff I got in jagd village that has 0 melee but increases cast speed apparently, and I’m putting in work. I pretty much have a heavy damage melee schemata, an average melee+magic strikes schemata, and a pure magician one. Ill explain better what I have when I get home lol

You get SoP from a quest in Jagd village.

In terms of whats better: Cloud or SoP then its SoP by not too much.
Give Cloud a beefed up Heavy Slash and use that instead of his HSlv2 and he’ll do great damage to staggered enemies. SoP Artemis Arrow does more damage and it ignores defense, but the garb itself is ugly as sin. It also does the most single damage in the game with Stagger + Shadow Bind + Artemis Arrow

The garbs in the Wildlands are pretty good… I’m using the one with Blizzard+(Watery Chorus) for my magic set.

You get SoP from completing the Hunter’s quest in Jagd Village.

Ill have to hunt down that quest if I don’t already have it and give that garb a shot. If only I could transfer the FF7 fanfare. Also I need to look up that second chocobo song. Whenever you heal him a whole stage is riding song changes. The one when his bandages are gone is my favorite.

Also, what did everybody name their chocobo? I let my friend name it for me. She named it Barry.

Angel of Bukkake

The song keeps changing for me… I think it shuffles between the themes from XIII-2. The Red Chocobo theme is hilariously good… Makes you wanna fuck a Reaver up .

Valefor at first after my favorite Summon. I changed it to “something else” later for practicality’s sake.

I named it Chicken

Artemis Arrows is better than Slayer?

i believe it was a parody website like dats not fo serious.

Ah Valefor…ole’ Reliable.

On an unstaggered enemy, yes. If the enemy is staggered, I believe Slayer does more damage. The issue is that the enemy has to be staggered to get full damage from Slayer, and the Cloud garb is locked to a certain level of Heavy Slash. Sure, you can equip another Heavy Slash, but it’s not practical considering you’ll be wasting a slot. Might as well use SoP.

The problem with slayer, is that some enemies dont really give a shit about melee damage even if stunned. They will take more damage than heavy slash sure, but not all of them take the massive damage. Slayer on a staggered Zaltys or Earth Eater can do a solid 50,000. Where as a staggered Reaver will still only take 8000 from Slayer. And yeah needing to stagger is a bitch, but rarely so. The only time it really bothered me was when I fought Omega Skeleton. That son of a bitch will stagger but not enter a vulnerable state and trigger the Slayer transformation. I got got him to enter a vulnerable state on maybe the 8th stagger. Omega Skeleton and Cactair battle were battles of endurance.

But anyway, here are my schemata’s as I promised earlier. Day 8, first playthrough.

I also have damn near every garb I’ve come across. I just havent really used any of them because what I have now works very well, and if it aint broke, dont fix it.

double post.

I’m assuming that all guarbs force lightning to use a weapon and not her fists?

It is, it’s funny the things people don’t like about it all come from mistranslations

Just got Flesh Render from Omega Reaver. The whole sword is bigger than lightning lol. But what is the name of that quest for Soldier of Peace? I can find it a lot easier if I have the name of it.

Here’s the quest:

[details=Spoiler]The Wildlands Side Quest # 02/22 - The Hunter’s Challenge (**)
Client: Hunter Chief, a man standing near the Outfitters shop in Jagd Village. Available between 20:00-08:00.
Start: speak with Hunter Chief. Available after completing the quest “The Right Stuff”.
Failable: no.

  1. Speak with Hunter Chief to start the quest. He asks you to bring him 3x Monster Mince. Later he will also ask you to bring him 1x AMP Chip.

  2. The Monster Mince is dropped by the Vali (“monkey”-looking) enemies in Jagd Woods. They are weak against Wind.

  3. The AMP Chip is dropped by Aster Protoflorian, a big enemy that appears in the Rocky Crag area. His elemental affinities change continuously during the battle, so bring at least one spell type for every element when you fight him.

  4. Give Hunter Chief what he needs (3x Monster Mince first, then 1x AMP Chip) to complete the quest.

Rewards: 1,200 Gil, Soldier of Peace (Garb) x 1, Golden Insignia x 1.
Stats Rewards: HP +80, STR +8, MAG +4.

Rewards (second time): 1,800 Gil.
Stats Rewards (second time): HP +40, STR +6, MAG +2.[/details]

Thats probably why I never found it. I never went to jagd village at night. Luckily I already had all the things he wanted me to bring back so I completed the quest pretty much as soon as I found him lol. Now to try out these artemis arrows.

EDIT: They seriously made this ugly fucking garb the only one that you cant edit the colors on? Also 0 default ATB kinda sucks

Just don’t lead off with it, and you’re good. When I use it, I set Watery Chorus as default, get some stagger going, switch to Miqo’te, debuff, then to SoP. By then, the ATB is full and it’s GG for whatever I’m fighting.

Here’s my set up:

There’s obvious room for improvement, but I haven’t gotten around to it yet. What I want is a better looking shield to replace Pendragon. I also have an experimental “Absolute Defense” schema using the Sacred Knight garb.
