The problem with slayer, is that some enemies dont really give a shit about melee damage even if stunned. They will take more damage than heavy slash sure, but not all of them take the massive damage. Slayer on a staggered Zaltys or Earth Eater can do a solid 50,000. Where as a staggered Reaver will still only take 8000 from Slayer. And yeah needing to stagger is a bitch, but rarely so. The only time it really bothered me was when I fought Omega Skeleton. That son of a bitch will stagger but not enter a vulnerable state and trigger the Slayer transformation. I got got him to enter a vulnerable state on maybe the 8th stagger. Omega Skeleton and Cactair battle were battles of endurance.

Shield: Soldier’s Band
Accessories: Fighter’s Emblem, Pretty Orb
Abilities: Heavy Slash Lv2(Slayer, Locked), Heavy Guard Lv3, Deprotect Lv3, Blitz Lv2
Auto Abilities: Physical and Magic Resistance +10%, Deprotect Chaser(Makes deprotect more effective among other things), Strength +15%, Resist Slow 100%, HP+150, Magic+40
Yellow Schemata:
Garb: Rhapsody in Rose
Weapon: Buster Sword
Shield: Nightwalker
Accessories: Satin Scrunchie, Metal Armband
Abilities: Heat Blitz Lv1, Light Guard Lv3(locked), Attack Lv2, Blitz Lv2,
Auto Abilities: Energized(Increases dealt damage when ATB is 70 or above), Resist physical damage+20%, Resist all status ailments+50%, Resist Deprotect+100%, Strength+80
Blue Schemata:
Garb: Black Mage
Weapon: Astromancer’s Scepter(Magic+800 and faster casting)
Shield: Iseult’s Lament
Accessories: Silk Scarf, Guard Glove
Abilities: Element Lv1, Mediguard Lv3, Rapid Fire Lv2(Locked), Quick Freeze Lv3(Locked)
Auto Abilities: Soul of the Black Mage(MagicDmg+10%, Max ATB+50), Strong Finale+10%, ATB Recovery +15, Resist Physical Damage+10%, Max Hp+150
I also have damn near every garb I’ve come across. I just havent really used any of them because what I have now works very well, and if it aint broke, dont fix it.
