LMAO the 2-3 dragon, holy shit good times. my friend actually solo’d that guy for me on his BLU, easy as cake for him.
Also the dunes, HOOOOLEY crap man, those are some of my worst memories when I played my THF years and years ago. Very bad memories of a group that couldn’t deiced what I should be pulling for our level because everyone was basically incompetent.
At this point I think they really need to start consolidating the servers. There are still plenty of Japanese players but my server is a ghost town during daylight USA hours, almost nobody online in any areas.
However my favorite thing about FFXI is the chocobo raising by far. It takes a long time (months) to put in a lot of effort and you can even somewhat get rewarded for all your hard work through chocobo raising and breeding.
Making that GDLK racing chocobo is still something I’ve yet to perfect, but I’m working on it.
Level sync has seriously changed the game so dramatically though in my opinion. There’s no reason you can’t jump into a level 10, 20, 30 party in their respectable areas no matter what level you are. Hell I train in parties that have mule characters to delevel just so we can power train in Qufim Island. It really makes training and finding a party a lot less stressful.
Wow, FFXI players! What servers are you guys on and what jobs/levels/major achievements have you got?
I’m Kazujiro, Male Hume on Caitsith. Jobs at 75: Samurai, Ranger, Corsair. I don’t feel I have any ‘major’ achievements, but I have completed the missions for Bastok, San d’Oria, RotZ, CoP, ToAU.
Kirin and Bahamut BCNM are cake though, just throw a shitton of buffed damage dealers at them and they drop in under a minute.
It’s only $19.99 on either PC or Xbox 360 for the game+all expansions!
I’ve never used a mouse in FFXI, just a controller and keyboard on both PC and PS2.

I hated chocobo raising, haha. Took way too much time and money. I didn’t need it for much anyway except to get from one area to another, so I just played the little bit of money needed to rent one.
Level sync really helped the game out, but I believe it came a little too late in the game’s life.
I used to be 75 Blu, 41 Thf, 37 Nin, and a ton of other jobs that I leveled, but don’t remember what level. I posted what parts of the game I beat a page back. Outside of that, I just did lots of Sky/Sea/Assault runs with my LS. Never messed with Dynamis. I was actually about to join a Dynamis LS before I stopped playing. In Limbus, we were always able to rape Omega Weapon, but Ultima Weapon would wipe our group a lot, haha. We needed more nukers.
I liked the times when I started out more than the end game, though. Did a lot of fun shit with peeps. Who here DIDN’T farm the keys for Kazham airship and paid the money instead? lolololol
I never bothered with chocobo raising either.
I farmed the airship keys, then when I was higher level I charged people gil to get keys for them!
Transferred to Garuda. FoVs let me solo xp now. Yay.
man if ff11 still had as many ppl as it did back in the day iw ould still play it since now i have more time in my hands. the game is reallly godlike. i always wanted to do a hnm.but to get in those kind of LS u really need to have alot of time in ur hands which i didt. did kill all the sky gods tho. got a few in sea.man i miss it so much. ff14 better hurry the fuck up

we all have to try and get on the same server once that shit drops.
did anyone here get into the ff14 PC beta?
still havent gotten a email. im thinkin the beta will start in march.
Lots of FFXI talk in here. So many days spent on that game. I was on the Fairy server. At first I mained thf/nin but it took so long to get a party that I decided to go war/nin. The last class I played was cor/nin. The dunes, I hated that place. I liked doing that one bcnm, but I cant remeber what one it was. I also camped up hoo mjuu all the time.

I’m guessing we got ourselves an SRK FF14 clan/guild/linkshell.
Lol I still play FFXI on and off. Definitely getting XIV
A little over a year ago I couldn’t go a few mins after logging in as brd before someone asked to party even if I wasn’t looking… Getting hard nowadays
I have an endgame shell to go to, but I don’t have the time yet since I just moved to a new apartment lol
If I had known there was a vibrant XI group around, I might have given XI a chance. For me though, I like to start MMOs with people I know and that’s why WoW was so advantageous for me. But if XIV drops and there’s gonna be the SRK Guild, I may have to really give it the FF MMO a second throught.
Oh and is it true in XIII that if Lightning dies in combat, even if the other two are alive, you get Game Over?

I wonder if we should read the prequel book for FF13 before playing. Well I guess that’s why its called prequel right?

Yes it’s true. This is gonna make things for minimalist play that much harder, as if enemies already hit you real hard even at cap.

Fuck that I’m currently playing Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne. So whatever the fuck FF13 throws at me is going to be too easy.
Linear dungeons? I don’t care at least I don’t get random battles every two step with the most annoying fucking dungeons in rpg history where every step you make gets you teleported into some cul-de-sac.
If your main char dies = game over. Yeah that’s also not an issue when everything in SMTN has like 4+ turns and they attack your hero constantly or spam instant death spells.
No random battles. Thank god for this one! Every two step in SMTN makes a random battle trigger.
So yeah FF13 will be easy for me and generally less annoying.
Where’s the link to that?

it’s not a difficult game but my comment was mentioning how people like to play low level games, which just does not make sense, won’t work right w/ FFXIII. You end up using the same strategy, same gear and you’ll be getting most stat boosts anyways.
It’s from a Japanese magazine, I can’t remember the Japanese site since it’s been awhile
What Happened to Phoenix Downs?
No matter how much I try to like SMT: N, that game just plain sucks.
