Friendly reminder that there’s still a couple of months left and each month has shown it’s still anyone’s race.

Still tapped out. Very disappointed in Yang (how much are they paying you? What do they have on you?) This is why party loyalties are dumb.

Literally nothing to bring on. Cuties isnt anything political. Hell it isnt the first movie to have children in suggestive positions.

You guys just want a thread to make wack posts about cultural topics because you saw the thumbnail of a youtube vid on it.

FOH with all that.

You underestimate American politics, we made doing common sense shit that saves lives political.

The deep state IS a thing, but it’s just not what most people think it is. People think it’s some secret shadow government, but it’s more unelected bureaucrats who probably have more power than they should and are harder to get rid of because they have union-backed government jobs.

The intelligence community is a really good example of this. They’re unelected, funded by our tax dollars, and yet we have no say over what they do and we know very little about what they’re up to even though their misadventures often have a huge effect on world & domestic events.

Some of them are in the private sector (as consultants, lobbyists). Peeps who were in former government positions taking what they know from their previous roles and applying that to companies for all kinds of things (Amazon for massive profits, lucrative contracts, easier ways to surveillance you under the guise of your safety or ease of life)

These peeps all know how to hack the established laws in place.

People are quick to make fun of LUL conspiracists but a state within a state was never a conspiracy, particularly in other countries.

You could say the military industrial complex is part of the deep state.

Lol wut?

Obama was well aware of the investigations into Trump associates and all things he fucked up when he slashed the budget of intelligence agencies.

Trump fired the FBI and CIA directors. He could do the same with the rest of them if he wanted.

Hell most people dont know what an enlisted person does for the Army. But the government also needs some space to operate in secrecy as needed. Earliest intelligence agency was put together by Washington. Those dudes talked to nobody but him.

The whole deep state thing is interesting based on who talks about it. Same people who yap about the deep state looked the other way at Oliver North’s role in the Iran-Contra affair.

did someone say Oliver North?

Obviously it’s missing more but still the most simplistic summary.

When I say “we” I mean the public. Most of what they do falls under the guise “official business” and is classified so we have no way of really knowing what they’re up to, and yet we’re paying for it. Sure, the president can fire people, but most presidents don’t know enough about what they do in the IC and has so much else on his plate that he’s not going to ask a lot of questions most of the time. Plus, the IC can make a president’s term hell if they don’t like him or he crosses them, and they stick together a lot like cops do, so you can fire one, but that doesn’t mean something ends there.

The biggest “controversy” of that Cuties movie seems to be the way that Netflix marketed it, if anything. Movie had a totally different name and poster in one country, but here in America they decided to go with the most sexually suggestive poster possible. Their wording in the description even tried marketing the shit on sex appeal.

Shit is gross. The irony of it all being that the movie itself is supposedly about how over sexualized little girls already are.

That’s the spirit. :+1:

flying a flag (and in particular the United States Flag) upside down is an indication of extreme stress in that area. Shit has really hit the fan when the stars point down.

Why yes, that’s what happened.

Chinese government claps the head of provinceses for anything that goes wrong. So they are al dis-incentivized to report serious issues, as they’ll get blamed for them.

Needless to say the CCP is absolute and complete corrupt trash.

Biden Says He Would Shut Country Down If Scientists Recommend It: We Can’t Get Nation Moving ‘Until We Control the Virus’

“I would shut it down; I would listen to the scientists,” Biden replied when asked by ABC’s World News Tonight anchor David Muir if he would shut down the country if experts proposed the measure.

“I will be prepared to do whatever it takes to save lives because we cannot get the country moving until we control the virus,” Biden, flanked by running mate Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA), said. “That is the fundamental flaw of this administration’s thinking to begin with. In order to keep the country running and moving and the economy growing, and people employed, you have to fix the virus, you have to deal with the virus.”

Biden’s remarks come one day after the former vice president pledged to implement a national mask mandate during his Democrat National Convention nomination acceptance speech. Days earlier, Biden said all Americans should wear masks “outside.”

“Let’s institute a mask mandate nationwide,” he proposed. “Every single American should be wearing a mask when they are outside for the next three months at a minimum.”

Biden Offers Indictment of Trump’s Covid Response in DNC Speech: ‘He’s Failed to Protect America… That Is Unforgivable

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden unleashed a stinging indictment of President Donald Trump’s handling the Covid-19 pandemic during his Democratic National Convention acceptance speech: “He’s failed to protect America. And, my fellow Americans, that is unforgivable.”

Biden spent a large chunk of his speech focusing on the singular issue that has inflicted multiple, unprecedented crises upon the country. His judgment of Trump’s performance was meticulous and unsparing.

“As president the first step I will take will be to get control of the virus that has ruined so many lives because I understand something this president hasn’t from the beginning: We will never get our economy back on track, we will never get our kids safely back in schools, we’ll never have our lives back until we deal with this virus,” Biden said. “The tragedy of where we are today is it didn’t have to be this bad. Just look around. It’s not this bad in Canada or Europe or Japan or almost anywhere else in the world. And the president keeps telling us the virus is going to disappear. He keeps waiting for a miracle. Well, I have news for him. No miracle is coming.”

Biden then laid out the facts that the nation leads the world in confirmed Covid-19 cases and deaths — and connected Trump mismanagement of the outbreak to the resulting economic catastrophe gripping the country.

“Our economy is in tatters with Black, Latino, Asian-American, Native American communities bearing the brunt of it,” he pointed out. “And after all this time the president still does not have a plan. Well, I do. If I’m your president on day one, we’ll implement the national strategy I’ve been laying out since March. We’ll develop and deploy rapid tests with the results available immediately. We’ll make the medical supplies and protective equipment that our country needs. We’ll make them here in America so we will never again be at the mercy of China or other foreign countries in order to protect our own people. We’ll make sure our schools have the resources they need to be open, safe and effective.”

Biden also emphasized that his administration will put science before politics when dealing with the pandemic, and unabashedly called for individual Americans to take a shared role in stopping the spread of the virus.

“We’ll have a national mandate to wear a mask, not as a burden but as a patriotic duty to protect one another,” Biden said. “In short, we’ll do what we should have done from the very beginning. Our current president’s failed in his most basic duty to the nation. He’s failed to protect us. He’s failed to protect America. And, my fellow Americans, that is unforgivable. As president, I’ll make you a promise. I’ll protect America, I will defend us from every attack, seen and unseen, always without exception, every time.”

Don’t stop at medical equipments. Bring back other industries, too.
