It’s a yes or no question…you didn’t answer.

Your line of questioning sucks and that’s not my fault. To satisfy you, yes, I think it was ok what Trump said even if it was crass because it’s protected speech.
But ultimataly its unimportant what Trump said because him saying it doesn’t mean it would ever happen on his say so, and I don’t care what threats were made against Whitmer because they weren’t carried out. Having people make threats is part of being a public figure, you have recourse against that.

Setting up false equivalencies isn’t a good look.
Trump’s not out there voicing vague moral rationalizations, he’s calling for persecution against real and specific people.

It’s not a false equivalency though. Do you believe he was encouraging something like kindapping and murdering a governor by tweeting “Liberate Michigan?”
I don’t. If you do that’s fine but at least be consistent about it.

Hey man, I don’t think it’s ok for Trump to say that shit, regardless of what protections anyone has.
Whew, that’s wasn’t so hard! I thought the question was pretty easy to understand.

See…that wasn’t hard.
Stand for your beliefs.
I don’t understand what difference it makes whether I think it’s ok or not.

I think he doesn’t give two shits if bad things happen to people because of the way he spouts off, and that’s just as bad because the harm that results is exactly the same.

It does for me…that’s why I asked.
I feel sorry for you then.

I don’t understand why you would care so much what a known shit talker like Trump says when he hasn’t the power to enforce those things he says. Or why it matters what I think when I’m probably little more than a name on a screen to you.

Because that person is the president of the United States…
Again, do you think he should be held responsible for when bad things happen as a result of people interpreting what he says in not great ways? How would you hold him responsible?

I feel like a lot of the people here are more than just names on a screen because I interact with them on a daily basis. So getting to know people I share common interests with matters to me a little. I like you guys, otherwise I wouldn’t want to be part of this community.

Do you care when other world leaders say silly things like he does too?
I agree but if someone is purportedly going to hold something against me because of political differences, then I feel bad for they person.
Then I have to say I respect that a great deal, especially considering you don’t need to care and that there seem to be a lot of windbags in office around the world these days.
I agree, but unfortunately we have Trump AND the media telling us to hate either side, and I see that as a problem. Which is why I don’t think it’s OK for Trump to say shit like that.
