The Dynasty/Samurai/Gundam/Hokuto no Ken (Fist of the North Star) Warriors thread

Play through Amuro’s history stages, beat Char in the Zaku II, and build it, I think.

Next game better have Marcus Fenix and Gear Gundam with Lancer arms. Real talk.

Also, I’m going to make a bold claim: the Deathscythe is probably ever so slightly better than the Unicorn, but its advantages are more difficult to gauge.

I dunno…most likely in the Bleach thread.
So far I’m liking what I am reading about it…it’s been said it actually runs quite smooth.

Deathscythe + Magnetic Field destroys enemy fields with Hyper Jammer, even if the field is a Fortress. Additionally, dat level 3’s damage…wow. If I’m going through TDWG, I’d rather play Deathscythe than Unicorn, just because DS is a better ace killer than Unicorn and has less drama building meter.

talk here if you want, I don’t visit the bleach thread but whenever I have the money I’ll definitely be getting that game

Alright. So apparently the way to use Char’s Zaku II was to…unlock OYW Char and he can use it.

Got the license, and it’s even better than it was in DWG2. It being three times faster does make a difference.

Another game I want that won’t see overseas release…what’s up with Okuni’s sideboob?

Sengoku Basara, the character design is just godlike

I wonder if I can get the EU version for PS3…

It pains me to say that I thought DW7 > SB3, but ONLY because of difficulty. SB3 was essentially a cakewalk, plus it had less characters, removed faves, and had no online. I got rid of them both, but I’m almost tempted to get DW7 back because I never started Wei or Shu stories or played online. I despise DW games, but I had to give props to DW7. It was like crack for a little while for some reason. But I was ashamed to say I bought it, or played it for as long as I did( a whole week).

Not being a fan of DW series or Gundam makes me stray away from DWG3. And plenty of people should be hype for this Bleach game. I watched the first 150 eps of Bleach when I was jobless, but I hate myself for that. So not copping it.

Just looking to import SB3 Utage and hope it improves in a few ways so it’s not a letdown. And might cop HnK masher when it gets cheaper. That Saint Seiya game looks cool though and would be on my radar if I knew anything about Saint Seiya.

SB3 is easy when you play on easy, but playing it on hard without doing all those optional permanent upgrades is plenty fucking hard. Especially if you just play freeplay. I don’t really see how DW7 is just better overall. Sure it had less characters, but they were all INCREDIBLY unique compared to the character roster in DW7 which really barely even matters since 95% of every characters movelist is just dependent on equipped weapon. DW7 also doesn’t have anything like Saika, Tsuruhime, Oichi, Fuuma, Mouri, Ishida, Maeda, Otani(though I don’t like him), which is like half the character list. There’s just way better playstyle and mechanics variety.

If you think Hokuto Musou is a masher, you probably won’t like it lol.

Oh, don’t get me wrong. I’m a huge Basara fan. And I hyped up SB3 to everyone, and ended up buying DW7 on a blind buy and playing it more than SB3. How do you think that makes me feel? When I’ve spent 2 years arguing about how DW/SW is trash and SB is better, only to get rid of SB3 after like 4 chara playthroughs, and complete 2 kingdoms in DW7? It sickens me.

I’ve already established to peeps about the character and moves diversity, so they can’t use that against me. But people like a nice select screen. Furthermore, you can’t really say there’s any strategy whatsoever to taking camps in SB3, or doing anything pretty much than “making salad”(our term used exclusively for this game). Whereas in DW7 you have to tread carefully in some parts and even rethink the whole way you complete a map. The only thing boosting difficulty in SB3 does is make you lose more health and generals enter god-mode. It hardly even makes the enemies more aggressive, which is THE one thing that lead to my DW fan friends winning the argument. I couldn’t say anything as I dropped my controller and watched as the enemies stood there, waiting to be hit. There were alot of times that enemies ran directly past me and I quickly explained that was because they were programmed to do other objectives like proceed to camps. But I couldn’t lie my way out of guys sitting there dancing and not hitting me.

Just keeping it real. I’ve PSA’ed for SB3 before it dropped, lied for it,hell, damn near marketed it. And there’s areas that it fell short, don’t deny that. But the AI, and difficulty…i just couldn’t get past that. It was fun so long as I considered that my character was the ONE and ONLY offensive threat on the field. But making camps explode isn’t enough. Neither is boosting difficulty and not equipping items. You’d think that works, but it’s not satisfying in the least. Since all it was is making sure I didn’t get hit by a random arrow or something. Increased enemy aggression was hardly noticed. It definitely was a challenge in SB2Heroes. No fucking question.

Anyway, I’ve been waiting to get that off my chest for a bit, to people who actually like Basara. I ebay’ed it again because i want to give it another go when I get bored. I love it, but it became a chore for my thumbs. Like playing idiots in fgs.

P.S. Another thing that ruined it was, I got a friend, one of our best fg players here. He treats everything like a fg, hell we all do. But he literally broke the game, and showed me too much shit to exploit the system. In a game that was no longer brutal anymore anyway. It was like…what the fuck dude. You’re killing this for me. Crazy thing is, he still plays it a good deal. Just wrecks shit in the most ridiculous ways(to where fights aren’t even fights, just glitches and shit), and then turns it off completely satisfied. :wtf:

eh, well for me, for Basara at least, I like that everything is broken, cause it lets me play stylishly without worrying too much about living outside of some situations. I like finding the broken shit and just finding creative (impractical) ways to use it. I can really focus just on my character, their mechanics, and playing for fun. If I REALLY want difficulty then I’ll play DMC/NG/etc.

I see what you’re saying, but none of it was ever a problem for me. I have over 120 hours in Basara, and even when Utage comes out I’ll probably put another 100 hours in it. The game is just so much more fun than ANY musou aside from HnK. Well even then I’d probably put HnK a little lower in “fun” factor.

Ay dudes. What do you think are the odds that DW7 XL will be released in North America on 360?

I honestly think it will happen…probably later then sooner.

God I hope.

I can’t help but feel a bit salty that this game may NEVER come stateside.
I mean I have the OG SW3 on Wii…but this has to be the FIRST Samurai Warriors game on PS3…and the US fans are not getting it?

I mean yeah I can import it…but I gotta have English.

i need this to be happy
