It made Storm great, it made X-23 and Deadpool better, and it made Magneto go through the roof.
We honestly wouldn’t see any Storm if she didn’t DHC glitch, because her damage is so low without it. If you’re going to use Spencer as an example, look at the people who run him on point. Infrit, for example, gets most of his damage and wins from DHC glitching into Wesker. Richard Nguyen DHC glitches from Dante to Wolverine. Mike Ross goes from Storm to Thor. Tatsu uses it. AndyOCR.
Really, there’s almost no reason to play Storm or Thor if you don’t use the DHC glitch. Name one Storm player who’s team isn’t built to DHC glitch, and it won’t change that the DHC glitch was instrumental to the success of lots of teams and that some characters simply would not be as good without it.
Thor on point is actually good. Storm can do a lot of stuff that’s not related to the glitch. Point still stands though that those teams mentioned are not the ones placing at majors. Even then Richard Nguyen has gone through a couple of teams including Dante/Haggar, X-23 nor Deadpool are getting a significant amount of play and Magneto is busted mostly because he can build his own level 3.
DHC glitch only makes them “a bit better” because you still have to play the characters with their faults and bad match ups against character that are better. So in the long run of making teams, Tatsu playing X-23/Deadpool/Sentinel was no worse than Team Z (although not as cool).
the fact is, although deadpool and x23 get played because of thier glitch all the characters without a glitch never never never never ever get played. This clearly because of the utility of the glitch. I would have to guess that something like 90% of non-pheonix teams utilize the glitch.
Honestly Im glad to see it go but I wasnt mad about it in the first place. My team (Chris/deadpool/ironman) never used the DHC glitch but I’m not salty about anyone using it either. Its certianly an option just like using top tier characters.
btw deadpool is so OP. best overhead in the game. And if you disagree i’m sending the ghost of christmas KICK YOUR ASS lol
Don’t even turn this into something else. He has a lot of shit he can do; its just that like in MvC2, the strong character are balls stronger than everybody else.
But yo, he is super fun and if he touches you, a character will die.
Don’t forget that there are people who play the game other than top players. Just because not every single top top player uses DHC glitch, doesn’t mean it lacks a big impact on team composition and the overall metagame.
I think that because its not winning a lot of tournaments, and from the matches watched the assist have been more important to winning than the DHC glitch, I can safely say that this was blown out of proportion.
something about your attitude is disturbing and illogical, if you use a glitch you arent fighting your opponent, you’re fighting the game, and that’s just boring
High execution TOD combo that eats hyper meter =/= DHC glitch
if you’re willing to spend 5 meters to kill any character (as most TOD combos do) thats fine, but being able to kill any character with essentially only 2 meters definitely devalues the gameplay
many characters can TOD with 2 meters and relatively “simple” combos.
I’m not saying the DHC glitch is fair, but ur argument for why it shouldn’t be in the game is off. Just saying. I like the ability to combo after a hyper, and if damage scaling didn’t reset, i would like the game to function that way. Although yes, reset damage is an issue as it would kill characters over 1.1 health for minimal bar usage.
In hindsight, characters like hulk and wesker and doom can kill almost the entire cast with 2 to 3 bars and no xfactor, yet not many characters can kill hulk, thor, she hulk, wesker with the same effort.
true lol, which is one of many reasons why i question why on earth they are buffing doom -.- but no, let me differentiate the argument a bit for ya DHC Glitch = Using a game-bending mechanic in order to get an advantage; not treating the opponent necessarily as another player, but as a feature of the game TOD Combo = Using an in game mechanic; although the combo itself may not be intended by designers to be so effective (In some cases i darn well hope some combos arent meant to be that effective >.>), the method of execution doesnt dehumanize the opposing player
It gave some characters more initial viability with all of the XF and non XF TOD’s going around. Honestly if it wasn’t for the DHC glitch I probably wouldn’t have picked up X-23 for a long time if ever. She was the only character that could start it that I found fun to use and then I realized that she was basically the exact kind of character I like to play. If it wasn’t for DHC glitch I’d probably just keep trying to grind out learning Viper’s redundant seismo execution and not even gave X-23 a second look except for random side teams. X-23 fits my play style more than Viper does (although I find her fun also).
X-23 having something as strong as being a DHC glitch starter initially got me into her but then when I realized all the other stuff I could do it really got me into playing her and seeing all the things she has past the glitch.
From what I seen in UMvC after X-23 Weapon X prime they still go twirling in the air after a dhc into a hard knock state. Even though damage and hit stun decay doesnt reset someone like dante can continue a combo if they do the following: volcano into beehive, down shots into stinger give you a wall bounce.
