Common, you know he had to be desperate to enlist DP’s help. Hell, he currently is employing villains in Secret Invasion isn’t he?
fury desperate by hiring wade? are you insane? wade is the best at what he does (not wolverine) way is writing him more competent and less comical. whenever wade puts his mind to it, he is a very dangerous person. nick knew what he was doing when he hired wade.
I’m not trying to demean Wade’s skill as much as no superhero team seems to want to work with him. Last time he teamed up with the X-Men he double crossed them to save Cable. He did gain some street cred in the last issue of C&D I suppose…
Yeah but it’s Secret Invasion. Every major Earthbound Marvel character right now, hero or villain is fighting the Skrulls. Norman Osborn is fighting alongside Spider-Man in the main Secret Invasion book. Us against them and all of that jazz.

Doubt Fury was desperate in hiring Wade. If anything, Fury found DP to be the ‘X-Factor’ or something the Skrulls won’t anticipate. If anything the Skrulls probably never cared about DP affecting their plan as opposed to the other heroes. This is something Fury probably considered and used to defeat the Skrulls.

I thought the Super-Skrull fight was kind of lame, but I had a few giggles, particularly at “the sound of condescension”, and “splorch”.
