I hope that there’s no bad blood at SBO. It’d be a huge shame if we lost the opportunity to attend SBO in the future or even if this dispute caused lots of Japanese players to forgo the trip to the next EVO. I know that’s exaggerating the situation…haha. I just hope that people don’t start stereotyping American/Japanese players attitudes. Isolated incident.

The tournament organizer knew and ok’d the switch way in advance.
REGARDLESS, you don’t call a foul after you see how the match plays out, you bring that shit up AS IT HAPPENS.
If Art had lost anyway, they wouldn’t of said anything, or asked for a reset.
It’s just shady.
Basically, the problem was that the Japanese team didn’t bother to talk about the problems with the initial team listing until they lost against the Dhalsim.
Although the US team is probably the ones initially at fault (Not intentional really, but just misconstrued information and language/cultural barrier difficulties), the fact that they let the game go on and THEN complain was also as big of a no-no.
People are posting on the BBS that ideally, the match should have been halted after Marn was seen playing the first few matches with Viper rather than the originally reported Rufus. That was the first red flag. The next one was when Sabin stepped in with Dhalsim. That was also a red flag but wasn’t mentioned until he won.
Both parties are guilty in some sort of fashion.
Bad calls happen sadly. Would’ve been much better if this was settled in the beginning and then this wouldn’t have been brought to the stage of flaming it became then.

remember when Project.kr (korean national cs 1.6 team) lost against MYM then they were complaining about MYM using silent running after they lost the match. In fact solo from Project.kr were also using the same technic. They got what they want a second chance on de_dust2 which known as their best homemap.
I’m also an asian so this is not a prejudice against my ownkin! It’s just the fact.
