How did Sanford handle his loss to Noel Brown? I assumed he was going to have an aneurysm or become apoplectic.
I couldnāt make out shit, got there rather late. He got off that stage in a real hurry, though.
I played a handful of SFxT, and I canāt say that I like it quite yet. That Dramatic Battle shit with 3 meters or low HP needs to fucking go. That said, getting to do dumb combos with Guile is fun.
He either realized that he needs a cheaper team to deal with Wolverine or he said he doesnāt wanna deal with a game where Noel Borwn is good and said fuck it. Iām sure heāll get back on the horse since heās probably just so salty about losing that heās just gonna go in to fuck people up. Got blown up by those PR Rog/Richard N Dante ports also.
The saltiness from Phoenix stems from the fact that people just dont like how fast a Phoenix team can build 5 meters. The whole point of the character is to stop her before she becomes an unstoppable force but with easy mode meter build, pre ultimate near inescapable TAC combos, and XF3 giving her way too many advantages its too much at this current stage for most tourney players. If the meter build for Phoenix teams was a bit slower or something it wouldnāt be so bad but its god awful easy to get 5 meters and just about zero repercussion for combining XF3 + DP which is terrible game design.
Sucks about your stick purbeast. Glad you had fun either way. Evo is always hype.
I might be able to make it out @ Xanadu next Saturday. I really need to step my shit up; possibly more so than all of you guys since Iām not there at Xanadu as frequently.
Iām trying to get better @ MvC3 and KOF XIII once it gets released. I was doing alright at Otakon and then I lost to RougeYoshi in the 2nd round of the tourney.
Was the Otakon tourney double elim? What team did Rogue use again?
Iām still interested in KoFXIII. Honestly iām interested in about every new fighter dropping. (ultimate/KoFXIII/TTT2/Skullgirls/SFxT to some extent). Though this influx of games is going to have some backlash in the long run.
Yea I think it was double elimination. Lemme get back to you on what teams 10 Stars and Rouge were using.
I would love to see CVS2 online. Good Job to DMV representing for Evo. And yes sandford is just over salty now.
There are lots of talented people here and its good casuals/gatherings are held to keep the scene going. But my question is, do people have a setup decidated just to practice/ training mode? I know when you have 10+ people, they just want to play which is great but slight problem is that after a match, just nod to each, say ggs, have different theories of why person won or lost. Having to work with a partner in training mode would help understand certain aspects of the game like better setups( know your frame data), counters etc. Some people need to leave their ego aside and work together. We put DMV in map before and for sure can do it better again.
Just my 2 cents.
Pardon while I blow dust off of my account.
Speaking as an old ST player, I think thereās a lot of merit to this. I can wax poetic about ST, but honestly very little from there translates over to something like SF4, so I feel that thereās just a lot of things about SF4 that I just donāt know or understand, so having a forum in which to play with folks and get feedback outside of a tournament setting would be a boon. Several of us had some long discussions about this on Sunday after the finals.
I know whenever Darkchild and I have sessions weāll randomly test shit out either in training or during a match. But we only cover so many characters.
I had lots of fun at EVO, like always. Was good to see the few MD/VA that went. I feel like playing SF4 again, so youāll see me more often this coming semester hopefully.
Session later on tonight at xanadu. Around 10

I kindaā wannaā learn AE and play Marvel, umā¦but I need a ride to and from Xanadu.
Is anyone able to give me a ride up there and back from my home?
Where do you live?
Randallstown Maryland, right on Liberty Road.
no it was single elimination. Iāll probably watch the Stream tonight.
If I didnāt live all the way in Fairfax, Iād come to Xanadu more often, but, unfortunately, the drive is sort of a huge pain in the ass, so itās only Wednesdays and possibly weekend stuff for me.
Hey everybody. Iām from Raleigh nc and Iām at a friends place in alexandria va. I was trying to see about any sessions tonight or this week in the area. I saw the post by rugal b and was just wondering about this Xanadu place. I found it in my maps and found two things that came up for it though.
If you click the link in the first post that should take you to the right oneās website. As for training, Steve and I are trying to put in work on MvC3 between now and Summer Jam, so Iāll be playing more often (once Iām free from being busy with work). Generally weāve done it randomly at Xanadu. Iāll give my number out to anyone who is ever interested in playing, all you gotta do is just ask.
Also, FYI about the monthly.
BBCS2 tournament is free, and will be a normal tournament ( you still owe venue fee )
Pot is $50/$25/$10.
I also highly encourage people to start showing up to the weeklies if you plan on going to Summer Jam (for BB). I need to return into top shape and I need all the practice I can get in this game.
Single elim, it was a con tournament, but I made sure those two would fight last (unless Meeps got the upset). Yoshi used Dorm/Dante/Haggar. I only got a few games against him myself and won 2-1. I got 10 Star 2-1, and then he got me 1-2 and 0-2 later on. Iām not exploiting the Dante/Skrull match up enough against a lot of what Dante does. I also want to figure out how I can use Skrulls Orbital Grudge in general.
