the year 2012 is gonna suck in general for fighting games just like the last 2 years have.
the best one released was mk. 3s rerelease wasnt too big but it was a sign of hope.
plus the world is gonna end in 2012. we’s done

It’s just too hard to win with characters that aren’t high tier in SFIV. Damages are too based and too many ways to get out of bad situations where it’s more just about the higher tier characters just doing their good stuff. Not enough strong things from a lot of the mid tier to make up. Not that I play the game anymore but I prefer games where you can put people in stronger situations than in SFIV. I think it’s generally better for middle tier characters as well to be in games where the situations are stronger and their tools are generally stronger.
I mean it’s Capcom so they’re going to do weird things with some of the balances but I think they did a pretty good job of bringing up the Console Makotos of the game and toning down the Yuns and Fei Longs of the game. The game is generally higher damage and allows you to put people in scarier situations so it just takes putting a character on the right team to really get the most out of them.
There are a few that will most likely still be garbage like Hsien Ko and Tron isn’t looking like she’s going to bust much through the tiers but with all the changes I see anybody could really be a threat.
What about CVS3? LOL.
I’ll definitely be playing Skullgirls the most of all the new games once they hit. Plays more like the old games and has a lot of the things that are missing in like every fighting game ever that should be standard.
HAV playing KOF? I thought you hated it.
no troll but MK9 was the best game to come out this year… fighting game wise
What other game will let him have two Iroi’s on a team?
Mugen?
Hey guys I’m a new Marvel player in the MD scene. So new that I don’t even own the game(: I’m waiting for Ultimate. But anyway, I was wondering if anyone will be at xanadu the weekend after this one. I’d like to get a little training on the basic mechanics of Marvel. I plan on going to NEC to get even more training from some high placing players. Also what do you guys think of Wolverine/Ryu/Sentinel as a begginer team?
As long as you’re willing to do the time, any team is a good beginner team.
Beggin’er team on the other hand??..
We at WHB are thinking of running AE (2012) and/or Ultimate MvC at our next event, Pass The Salt, on December 17th. It’s at GMU. How many of you would be willing to attend if we ran these games?
dave, plz host kof. i will help manage it. if people want to play sf4 or mvc3, they can go somewhere else.
Sure, I’d be down.
The Apple Store is having one last hiring event this season. If you’re interested I can get you invited for it.
It’s on Friday and guarantees you an interview. From then the rest is on you. If you’re interested let me know.
That’s my birthday weekend. I prob won’t be there. Making Saturday a white girl Wednesday. You understand though David.
But the idea of a tourney at GMU is great. When I went to the tekken/mk tourney it was cool.
I wanna play kof13
That teams works simply by virtue of having solid assists and probably not terrible at DHC’s also. It’s a team that would have been scary in February easily so not bad now even.
I should be there next week considering things work out.
Funny enough the only time I’ve ever heard HAV say things about KOF it was always good. I know he always liked playing KOF 98 and his CVS2 team is all SNK people cept Bipson.
alright guys, i talked to big e about NEC. he wants to know who is going there to play KOF. there’s a slim chance that there may be sponsorships for that tournament. so who is seriously going to play?
post in the NEC thread to show your support. the KOF players list is looking real small right now.
I haven’t played KoF since 98.
I do think most KoF games are silly, and most KoF players are weird as fuck, but whatever. AE 2012 is gonna be ass, so I’d rather play 98 Iori
I know some people back home have already gotten their hands on retail Ultimate. Anyone know if the usual places are selling it early?
Hahaha, really? If someone found a place in Virginia or Maryland that was selling it this early, I’d drive out there right now.
I would play kof, if the didn’t change raiden. It’s not as fun as I saw in the videos of just doing dropkick mix ups. Hav don’t like 2012 cause he don’t have a char. He needs to just man up and play yang some more.
