This is funny cuz I’ve been going to DnB for years and the last time they had more than 2 fighting games was when VF3 first came out back in like 1996. It was obvious even back then that they only really cared about whatever game looked the flashiest or involved nothing but mashing on buttons or a trigger by yourself or one other person. If Steve is trying to convince them to get fighting games cabs then I’m definitely telling the pack to come. This shit’s on a Thursday any way as of right now so we’ll see what happens after that.

VF3 was amazing for its time.

Most of the bigger MVC3 players in the area are in MoCo any ways so this will work for me. Arcade cab shit is questionable but whatever.

I’m going to address the db situation as a player and not an manager of Xanadu video games. The idea of db hosting events in theory is good. However there will be a disconnect between players. Some players will make it and some will not make it to db for their events. It will be good for the metro area of the dmv.

The main issues arrise how long will db consider running events. What about the turnout? How many people need to show up for it to be successful in db’s eyes. This place will be the new flavor of the month. Then will fizzle out eventually. What will happen to our old place Xanadu? Once people migrate to a new establishment that place is done. Players in md fought for a place for the longest. Now that we have one that’s been here and, we have a lot of perks involved in said place, will db give us the same perks? Staying till 4 or even 7am to play video games?

This is a business venture that we as players are trying to go into. So if all of us half ass etc low turnouts etc how could that place keep us coming there? I understand the issues with Xanadu’s location and its hard for people to come out. The staple is Xanadu the b&b if you want to call it that. Every place has its issues. I just want all the players to think and choose wisely with their decisions.

And the notion that db would get a 20 plus grand cabinet is absurd.

yeah you guys are idiots to think that they would purchase a FG cab that will allow one person to stay on if he wins. They want games where both players will have to pay to play again. That is why Tekken did so bad and was never maintained. Why give people the opportunity to win 30 games in a row without having to put in more money?
