@rugal: idk man. i wouldn’t be saying half the things you said in that post if i was a top player. because as a top player the only superstars would be me and a small handful of other people. call me crazy, but perhaps SF4 is actually a really good game because reaching the top of the top level is retarded hard. what u see in SF4 is: a small handful of gods followed by a ridiculous amount of mid-top level players. leaving the “above average” portion of the competition in SF4 is very difficult.

That’s what I mean by option selects dominating. You reduce the situation for most players to “block or hit” but the shitty thing is that if you don’t then I’M GONNA EX UPPER OR MESSIAH OR PSYCHO CRUSHER away. I don’t see a problem with being a purist when my alternative is to play a game where I have to do really difficult shit to make someone respect my play.

It’s not about the player being new. I would love if some new player came out of nowhere, with an insane amount of game knowledge, crazy execution, and a cool attitude, that might spark something in this dead-ass scene, but that’s not what we’re getting. We’re getting a cocksure scrub (and his clueless buddies), winning because of the combination of the fact that we all play so little, and MvC3 sucks.

I would say that you play safe to an extent or whatever and you cant win shouldn’t the better player win right? But whatever I measure a game in that if you were to lose you should be able to learn something about the player the char or something timing issues or what have you and what have you learned or anyone else for that matter when playing these said games? Yo he out footiesed me or that was random why would you do that moments? why do people ask themselves how many of the latter happens compared to the first issue then get back to me.

I didn’t actually watch the matches, but it’s probably fair to assume Hsien won… but even that… does Hsien even play? The fact that Hsien can win kinda makes the point anyway. If Choi is an S-Level player, Hsien is definitely A+ level. Top 10 in the country, in the last decade, easy.
And I’m not saying “give new games a chance”. I said MvC3 was ass almost immediately. I said SF4 was ass too. Hell, if you want to be real about it, you and I are half the reason MD/VA sucks now, because of how hard we shitted on Vanilla SF4… so it’s not that.
I honestly believe SSF4 is a good game. It’s not about giving it a chance. I just think it’s good. I think you can learn plenty while playing it. Outside of matches against Steve or DevilJin, I hardly ever lose in SSF4, and think “wtf…”, and both of those players make you scratch your head over the dumb shit they do in every game.
There are a lot of shitty players that play SSF4, but for the most part, either I beat them, or they beat me because I didn’t know the match or something… and that’s my fault… I learn, and that’s the end of it. They lose from that point.
Shit man… we did ranbats for SSF4, and plenty of tournaments, and the results were extremely consistent. If you asked people who were the top SSF4 players here, you’d probably get the exact same answers out of everyone. That’s how consistent shit was.

All of the new games are for new players sure. If a certain group likes the game let them like it. If you don’t like a game or think its ass don’t play it. Can’t be clearer than that. I understand if new players come on the scene thinking they are the shit rather than being humble then yes of course they get shifted on with no respect but if there are player’s that like to play new games and take it for what its worth others should respect that and either help the new player be the best they can be with their added help and experience in the past or just shut up and be quiet.
