Devs are out to make money, end of story. The cost of making games is going through the roof, so you need to sell more copies than ever to make it worth your while, or figure out a way to make more profit per unit sold.
Find any community that had a strong presence before this generation and you’ll see the same “crap sucks, shit was dumbed the fuck down”, and it’s happened to just about every franchise. At the same time you’ll see that every dev that poured major cash into a hardcore title complaining through their teeth that it didn’t sell well enough.

i remember when AC came out on JP consoles in 06 or 07. i think it was 07, cus people were bitching about importing it for the con tourney at Otakon that year ahahaha. that was the last I’ve heard of GG ;/
maybe im too american to understand it, or i just hold everything to original street fighter perfection standards. it really just looks like a mess to me

I remember when AC came out. I was sooo confused. Basic ass shit that I had perfect consistency doing, suddenly I had perfect consistency not doing. One day it was being done, the next day it wasn’t. But at the time I was doing my best unscrub impression and I eliminated the possibility that there was something wrong with the game. 2 years latter, after getting bored of AC, me and destin put in GG Slash for kicks, and then I was shattered. I didn’t know what to think anymore. My execution was just fine. It wasn’t me, it was the game. like, wtf:annoy::wasted::wtf:
Anyways, Slash is a lot closer to Street Fighter’s pace, than AC, if you wanna give it a try.
You know why 3S sucks? 90% of the people who think that game is the greatest can’t even beat me at it.
