Yep, Toshinden 4 was Japan only, so a lot of peeps haven’t heard of it. But it doesn’t really matter regardless, it was kinda weak. The combo system was kinda cool, but it still is no Toshinden 2, that’s for sure.
And I totally agree with ya on DS, the hell with “realistic” 3D, leave that to Sony. Some games can do it (like Prime: Hunters) but I think a cel-shaded 3D approach would be great. Kick-ass graphics, low polys. Everyone wins.
Oh yeah, and I’m currently playing PSO again, got a HUmar this time. He’s lv. 31 right now, with a Double Saber, so he’s kicking major ass for Hard mode. Only one more level up on my Mag till 100, w00t.
Holy page 100, Batman!
I’m playing Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap. It seems kind of like a wonky fusion of Link to the Past and Ocarina of Time. I’m liking it.
I’d like to thank all the SKRs that posted their fav gaming experiences here, be it positive or negative or helping out a fellow gamer. That’s what this thread is all about.
I played some San Anreas for a bit on Monday. I had to do ANOTHER infuriating race in the country side. It was the same dumb race I did before, only backwards. After I failed, I killed one of the racers and took his loot and then went back into some town and just started killing people. Racked up over $1000 just doing that.
I’m playing a lot of World Tournamnet mode in DBZ: Budokai 3 to get cash for buying rare capsules. Seriously, this is the best DBZ game, yes, besting even Supersonic Warriors. Hard to believe months ago, I never would have thought I’d say that. Oh and Broly=TEH MASS OWNAGE!!
so…I take it they changed some things with the fighting system/gameplay mechanics for Budokai 3? Budokai was an odd thing…on one hand it had great graphics and a nice selection of characters from the show…but it fell down in the most important area of a fighting game for me…the actual inner workings of the gameplay/engine. So can you jump whenever now? Free-flight? I know you already mentioned a teleport-counter system…
VJ2—just beat Alastor on Ultra Vrated…I’ve gone on to the Ice world now…fighting Al on Ultra V just isn’t fun, imo…basically, there apparently is no time when you can do massive damage to him at once, which is unlike all other bosses…so this fight lasts a LONG time. It seemed like I was fighting him for at least 10 to 12 minutes, and I actually got a V for time when it was over! More details in the VJ2 thread of course.
Just got to the end of Ico… this game is fucking amazing. Then, halfway through the ending cinematic, my PS2 got tired and stopped trying to load the next scene.
I have to see that ending. There aren’t any save points in the last area.
That fucking blows. I’m thinking about buying this game and adding it to the collection(of what little I have). There is no replay value for it but it’s a sweet journey. I’m pretty stoked about Wanda and the Colossus (from the same developers as ICO).
Well, Million, it turns out there is no free flight, despite what the back of the box says and you can’t jump. However, with all the improvements on this game like teleports, teleport counters, improved dodging (press guard at the right times and you can stand in front of your opponent and not take a hit when they swing at you). Plus you can build up your fighters all the way to level 99 in Dragon Arena mode and fighter other player’s fighters via passwords on the net.
Beat FF1 in the new GBA remake, and started to delve into the bonus dungeons. And jesus christ, those things are HARD. I was practically at max level, and I got 20 floors into the Lifespring Grotto before getting raped by Shinryu. I was level 49. The maximum level is 50.
EDIT: And I beat Ico again, and the ending worked this time. Hooray.
whoah hey…there’s something interesting. The password/internet thing really caught my attention there. So your character has a particular password so it can be unlocked on other people’s games…that’s a great idea, imo.
dammit…unless I break down and get a ps2 one day…I’ll have to wait another 8 to 10 months for the GC version, cuz that’s how much it sucks to own a Gamecube and no Xbox/Ps2.
*I’m really desparate now…if the whole temp service idea doesn’t work out soon, I’m actually going to work in a food court at the mall or something…or perhaps be a waiter. It’s so goddamn fun when the entire professional world conspires against your success, see. If I ever got ahold of several nuclear weapons…I’ll just say payback will be a bitch.
I’m getting hooked on X-men legends of late. Had to give Einhander a little break after nearly 3 weeks of not making any progress. So far, it’s the damn shiznit. combos, characters, and powers galore. One thing I’ve found is that if you throw an enemy into one of the dead areas (I.E. the places where you die on contact) you get way more experience for it. It’s helped me to level up my crew quicker during the later stages. Wolvie is a beast. Nuff said. Level out your characters to be strong in what they do best. Wolvie, Rouge, and beast for strength, Cyclops, Jean Grey, and Iceman for range attacks, etc. I’m not sure where to put Gambit yet. He’s rather good on both of those. Storm’s good for shaking up multiple enemies at once. Jean too for that matter. I’m not sure what to do with Nightcrawler yet either. He ain’t bad on offense onec he gets that teleport flurry, but he doesn’t hit hard enough. over all, a good game to say the least.
I’ve really just been playing alot of Halo 2 on Live with some old grade school buddies of mine. Funny how we havent seen each other in years but we recognize the voices when we played against each other.
I’m trying to add more SRK people to the list so we can get up on some custom games.
I picked up Tetris DX and played a few games over the last two days. Man, I really need to get my game back with this title. I can’t even break 100 lines!! And on the Ultra game where you see how many lines you can get in 3 mins, I haven’t even gotten 40. Pitiful. Just pitiful. I like how you can save high scores and have a file in this game. I just wish they didn’t ditch the original Tetris music. The new tunes are kinda “meh.”
As for Budokai 3, well man. My Kid Buu is now at level 30 in Dragon Arena mode. I’ve started fighting level 34 and up opponents. Man, those dudes do not screw around. It is a serious work out just to beat them but the EXP they give out is worth it and with the WE GOTTA POWER!! capsule (increases EXP by 25%) it makes things go a bit smoother. If I want to get cash in World Tournament mode, I have a capsule called “Sparking!!!” that earns me 400% more cash when I win a tourney. Million, you would love Budokai 3, possibly even more than Supersonic Warriors. Building up your fighter is uber fun and Dragon Universe is a blast. You’ve got to play this game.
Well it has all the makings of a great DBZ fighter and you get to build up your fighter’s stats in Dragon Universe/Dragon Arena modes. When you level up, you get Z points to distribute to your fighter’s stats such as attack, ki, guard, ability, etc. Also you get passwords to post on the net so players can fight your customized leveled up fighter. Pretty cool.
Bleh I’m back to playing Rez after my saved file got owned. Unfortunately I still don’t have a turntable to play beatmania iidx8 proper, pad is fucken horrible.
The new GT4demo is fucken hot. Nurburgringindingdong in a Nur-spec Skyline. BEAST
I played King of Fighters Maximum Impact tonight. My bro-in-law bought the game. I gotta say, I don’t think it is as bad as many of the critics say it is. Yeah, it is combo crazy but I think it has a tight combo system. Granted I’m no fighting game master and I’ve hardly spent much time with a KOF game, I pretty much enjoyed the time I played it. I played my bro-in-law in a few vs. matches and we were both even 1-1. However, he’s still better at the game than I am.
