I was up til 4 in the morning doing this annoying missionin GTA: SA. First, I had to ram this dude’s car to get him out. Second, I had to kill him and then take his car. This wasy the easy part. However, his car had to be in perfect condition so I had to takt it to the Pay 'N Spray… numerous times. The problem with the Pay ‘N’ Spray is that it’s one a busy street so 9/10 times, there’s a car coming down the road, which made my car take damage when I backed out. :lame: To make matters worse, I had to me the other cars before 10 PM. I had to retry this stupid mission over and over because of dumb little mistakes. One time I actually made it there and I slighty bumped the front car in the car line I had to meet. So I had to get the dumb car fixed. I’m just glad I’m done with that stupid mission. The best part was when I got to drown that 1991 Fresh Prince look-alike. (Not dising the Fresh. He pwns.)

yo Million, i finally played Viewtiful Joe, the game is pimp, now i know why you going crazy over it. there is somethings i dont understand…like wtf is that pink cross hair on people when i hit them i just get like X2 V’s and stuff is that all it does? and how do i get those, it just seems to be random like on enemies that are a little harder to kill…

how many episodes are there, i got to the episode right after you fight your clone…are there any secret stuff for getting all Vs or something…thanks, i ask since i know you are a VJ guru…

7 episodes…and you’re on the 5th one; “Midnight Thunderboy”. The pink crosshair that shows up on multiple enemies…that signals that you are in Rock-On mode, where everything is part of a big combo as long as you stay in Slowed time. This starts if you make one enemy dizzy, and hit them with a slowed attack…then ya hit another one, or knock the first guy into the others, etc…all for more V-points. Hmm…I think everything can be dizzied except for Gelbys(*big yellow guys) and small things like fish and bats.

All rainbow Vs throughout the game will give you access to the “Super” version of that character you accomplished the task with. Unfortunately there is no visual difference, but the “Super” characters have infinite VFX. (*a slowed dodge still takes a chunk out of the vfx bar though.) I only have “Super Blue” right now, my RV file for Joe is still on stage 3-2.(*one of the more difficult parts for RV, imo) Oh yeah…and the big challenge of the whole thing is that you must have Rainbow Vs everywhere. ONE task with a “regular” V or lower rank will throw it all off and you’d have to start over(from last save point before you messed up). It has to be all RVs at every single point you get ranked in the game. This guy here “Gen2000” actually did this with Alastor. :wow: The shit still amazes me.

how do you dizzy enemies? cause it just seems to happen at random times for me…and what is a rainbow V??? like at the end of stages i get purple or pink looking V’s…theres ones higher than that???

ps…thanks for the info…

On each segment of an episode you’re ranked for the Vpoints, Defense, and Time…if you get a V for each one, that adds up to a rainbow V for that segment…the highest possible rank. To get rainbow V on the stage, each of those segments must have Rainbow V, so it’s not an average…it has to be all RVs.

Dizzy = a bianky, for example (*the “putties” like on Power Rangers)…dodge one of their attacks, and he’ll be dizzied. The black versions(“Biancos”", I think)…you’ll have to dodge 4 of their consecutive hits to dizzy them. Bianco Billys(*putties with cowboy hats and guns)…you can dizzy them by just punching or kicking a bullet back on them in Slow.

I’m currently doing UVrated RV Challenge with a “fresh” Alastor (no power-ups carried over from other difficulties) and recording it, pretty fun to figure out how to get the required Vpoints and Time w/o relying on Slow-RHOH or other special moves (basic things like the dive kick andslide that I took for granted, lol).

Are you getting VJ2 on release date Million? I would like to, but the game is going to take a backseat to Naruto: GNT3 so I’m hoping you can fill me on all the good details once you get it. If I hear word of a playable Alastor in the game I might get it sooner though.

GTA: SA is just owning my soul. I finished all 10 pimping missions and now hoes pay ME for their services.

Also, I can start gang wars. I just find some rival gang territory on my map, kill the fools until all the waves are dead and viola! I own that territory. One thing that’s a bit annoying is when your “Hood” comes under attack and you have to go and kill the idiots attacking it so you can still keep it. I’ve had to do that twice already.

I know some people have already finished SA, but I’m just taking my time enjoying it. Pimping, killing Ballas, driving around the country side, exploring. Yeah, I know this last bit sounds like a review but SA is just so flipping enjoyable. I love this dumb game.

Signature length has been increased.

Haha, I remember being so into FFX. I didn’t think I would enjoy it, but it ended up being one of my favorite rpgs for unique reasons. I got my Tidus, Yuna, and Auron to complete the whole sphere grid and then some. 99,999 per normal hit.

The only thing that could possibly take priority over VJ2 for me would be Xbox+Halo2/Halo…so most likely I will have VJ2 immediately since that will be much cheaper than buying a game and a system at once. I’ve avoided reading the vj2 forums lately to keep from spoiling any details for myself.

*sidenote—Gamecube has a tight little deal going on now. Now you can get the system with 2 controllers and Mario Kart Double Dash…all that for 100 bucks! Too bad nobody hardly cares anymore. It’s all about Xbox(halo/halo2) and Ps2(gta:sa) now. GC basically has 2 major releases left that are exclusive.(metroid and the new zelda) But damn…if I didn’t already have a GC, I would be all over this Mario Kart bundle.

That is a nice little deal. If I didn’t have a Gamecube already, I’d jump on that.

But I still need to pick up Double Dash. I wonder if that’s still the same price as before. Gotta start looking around.

Just finished up Jak 3 and Fatal Frame 2, this week MGS3, CFJ, and Alien Hominid.

I got a random question about 3rd Strike match videos. if anyone’s seen videos with SlimX’s Elena, what the fuck are those guys screaming in the back everytime SlimX pulls off a Brave Dance combo? It sounds funny as hell!

Yeah, I really want to get that game myself. It has been almost a year and it still isn’t a Player’s Choice title. I don’t feel like playing $50 or $44 for it.

actually, I forgot about that too…Mario Kart is another game I intend to get sometime, but yeah, Nintendo takes forever to drop the price on games.

I just called my regular gamestop awhile ago…Viewtiful Joe 2 for GC = 11-19-04!!! Yes! This Fridayyyyyyy…

The ps2 version they said will be out December 8th.

-The forums for Destroy All Humans at Gamefaqs are halfway dead, but there are a few topics, and apparently it isn’t coming until the 1st quarter of next year. I hope they don’t cancel it, cuz I just have a bad feeling about that one.

Viewtiful Joe --man, this is my 2nd time going thru Adults mode with Alastor, and Fire Leo is still a rough fight for me. I died about 3 or 4 times. I doubt I could beat him at all if it weren’t for the Voomerang/Roundtrip trick. Something always goes wrong, and once again I only made it thru because that trick takes off a rediculous amount of his energy.

I’ve finished Chapter 3 on Paper Mario, and also did all the little “Troubles” for people. That stupid flower guy pissed me off quite a bit. First he wanted a hot dog, then another, and then a cake. Each hot dog meant a trip all the way back to Glitzville, which took forever, at least 3 minutes per trip. And all I got for that was a stupid dried up flower that restores 1FP. Asshole flower.

Up to Episode 6 on V-Rated Joe. Every boss has been pretty easy for me this time, even Another Joe. I’ve also come to the conclusion that Gran Bruce is even easier than Alastor. If you dodge his chomping attack on the edges of the field, so that he stops to breath outside the water, you can then slowZ punch him for loads of damage. Three or four hits destorys a whole health bar, and you can keep going long enough to get about 3 1/2 health bars off of him.

I’m just dreading UV already (I’m still on V). I heard that there were no skulls on UV, or when you play as Capt. Blue on any difficulty. Any advice? I don’t even see how you could do some stuff without knowing where to evade. Like the tanks and jets, where you have to stun the Biancos or Cromartys just to damage the big machines. Just rely on luck, or are there some giveaways even without skulls?

(*sidenote–the “black enemies” I mentioned earlier are actually called Cromartys, not Biancos)
well, everything has a set pattern…so it’s not hard to evade a hit from most things. The biankys, for example(aka, “putties”:p)…they do something with their legs in the startup animation before a low hit, and they also do something specific before doing a punch. heh, I was playing last night and I still forgot exactly what the actions are…I remember it better when I’m actually playing, …ah yes…they kinda do a boxer’s dance if that makes any sense–for a low sweep. For a punch, they just lean back and wiggle their arms with no leg movement…again, like a boxer. The ballerina types…I really don’t know how ya predict those…I just Slow and start hitting them immediately. The only tough ones to remember are the Cromartys(*the ninja putties), since they do 4 hits. It works out something like this:

  1. High, Low, High Low
  2. High, High, Low, High
  3. Low, High, Low, High
  4. Low, Low, High, Low.

The 3rd hit will always be opposite of whatever the 2nd hit was, and hit #4 will be different from the 3rd. Like the biankys, a leg motion signals that he’s starting with a low kick…“putting the dukes up” like a boxer signals he’s starting with a punch…I usually slow to see what hit #2 is going to be, and then let off slow since I know for sure the rest(3 is different, and 4 is the same as 2.)

^^^
Ah, okay. I think I’ll try to use that first room in Episode 7 to watch those motions and get ready. I’m still planning on playing Alastor through Adults first, but I’ll want to be ready to tackle UV when I finish that.

RE:Mario Kart: Double Dash!!

I strongly advise that you guys not go into it with high expectations. The game is fun, but not a masterpiece. And there are also only 16 tracks, which seems pretty slim, though most of the tracks are pretty well-designed.

MK: DD!! is also by far the easiest MK to date. Even 150cc and Mirror Mode were simple.

I’ve played it already, and I really enjoyed it. 'Pal and I were doing multiplayer, and you know how it is with Mario Kart (and Halo 2 multiplayer) - you go in to play one quick game, and end up playing for an hour or two.

Me too with the break - I took a break from Halo on Saturday and I’ve been playing more and more King of Fighters 98’.

The more I play it, the more I’m amazed with it. Brings back a lot of memories, and it’s infinitely playable. 6 years later, and still going strong. One of the best fighting games of all time.

(and cool, I’ve never been quoted before!)
