Today my buddy Will came over and we played some Street Fighter Alpha 3. He beat me a few times but I was the first to make it to 10 wins thanks in part to Chun-Li (A-ISM, Classic) Ken, Akuma, Sakura, Bison and Guy’s 7-8 hit grabbing combo. I also used a couple of cheese techniques to win. Like I abused the crap out of Chun-Li’s lightning kick. I also learned something about myself: I’ve got a lot to learn when it comes to fighting human players. I hardly ever get any compition but Will was pretty skilled.

We also played some TimeSplitters 2. Man that was good fun.

Fucking Onimusha 3!! There’s like 4 things I’ve been trying to do for a while and controllers have been thrown because of them…

  • Critical in Training (but not the Deflect Critical)
  • Chain Critical
  • Ten-hit thingy
  • Last part on one of those caves/dungeons where you talk to that dude hanging upside down.

Critical is too fucking hard. Couldn’t do it in Onimusha 1 or 2. Now they’re trying to make you do it in training. Chain Critical is difficult because I can’t seem to get the timing down… but I think I’ll be able to get that one. Ten-hit thingy pisses me off because whenever I’m about to get one off on one of those bastards… the other fucker hits me! Or one of my hits will be dodged and the bastard pops up with a handspring and slashes me. The last one just sucks… There’s two of those big ogre fucking things with the ball and chain and one other dude with a sword who does a really WIDE swing that hits when I try to hit and run. Plus, none of these bastards hit each other like in the other parts of the stage (it passes right through them!)

I’m sure I can probably beat the game without those things… but I WANT THEM.

This has been THE INVINCIBLE SWORDSMAN saying:

I was just playing Alpha 3 earlier this week with a guy who just got here at work. He was decent (at least he know how to do supers… most people can’t) just general strats from him. It was fun fighting DECENT human people again. I also taught him how to do the Raging Demon.

Since all my shit is packed and all I have left is my pc cuz I’m taking it with me as ‘baggage’ (I don’t trust the movers) I’ve been playing:

XvSF
MvC
A3
Metal Slug 3
War Craft III
Dark Age of Camelot (trying to, just got it)

Since I had surgery on my back I’ve been playing my GBA SP a lot. I bought advance wars when I first got my original GBA and I’m finally playing it now. This game kicks fucking ass.

In GTAIII I’m almost back to where I left off before my other save file had failed to load. Good thing I’d made a second one. It has been a while since I’d done a rampage mission in GTAIII. Last night I killed 30 Diablos. Man, that was fun! And The cops didn’t come after me at all!!

can’t stop playing civilization III …@_@

I decided to stop playing GTAIII despite the fact that I was almost done with it. This one mission required me to knock off 9 SPANK stands. After I got rid of the first one, I had 8 minutes to get rid of the rest. Only problem was that they showed up on my flipping radar at random. “Yeah, let’s have gamers drive all over Liberty City looking for random SPANK stands on the radar.” Way to screw up Rockstar. The next time I play GTA will ben in Oct.

In Mario & Luigi I finally found the Hammer Bros. and got the Ultra Hammer from them. Now I just need to find a bumd surf board so I can cross the sea. Solved one problem and then I get faced with another. Man, that’s gay. :bluu:

I may start playing Virtua Fighter 4: Evo again. Now that I stopped playing GTAIII my PS2 won’t be getting any love so I’d like to play something on it. On GC I’m thinking of starting Prince of Persia and Mega Man Network Transmission. I dunno, I guess I’m just in the mood to play a lot of games at once.

Red Dead Revolver and NBA Ballers

I only play showdown in RDR (multiplayer mode)…its mad fun…my roommate plays the story mode…it seems reallly cool

NBA Ballers is fun

I still play medal of honor…the game rocks but my PC is away from me this summer…hope i can survive

Bleh. Personally, I think its a mockery of Civ 2. When a swordsman standing in an empty grasslands tile manages to kill three advanced armors without taking any damage, something is very, very wrong with the game. Then again, its slightly better than Civ 1, where a musketeer shot down my nuke.

Criticals depend how you do it, depend on your skill this game pick the one that fits your best. I mostly use the “just defend” method or the “sidestep” method.

Chain Critical is basically critical done with a 3 level charged weapon.

Equip the Haori that shows enemy timings also help you learn how to use the “counterattack method” but I didnt bother with it.

Kill one of them then attempt the 10hit combo before another one regenerates. A lot of luck lies in this cuz as u said, you will miss a lot. I think I took 10-15 mins to finish it.

If everything else fails, see if anyone posts videos for that and learn from it.

For the regular game itself, did you beat it? I got down to 2:30 on my third try~

BTW, how many of the secrets you unlocked? Jacques alternate costume is just too hilarious!!

Man, I finally got to Joke’s End and now I’m stuck in this ice castle. You have to do a bunch of backtracking and its driving me crazy. Arrrrrrrrrggggggggghhhhh!!! I finally got fed up and turned the game off. I’ll try it again later but I’m sick of my games ticking me off.:bluu:

“Just Defend” one is easy… but the other one pisses me off. It says “just as the opponent is about to hit you”. Well, shit… as soon as he swings his friggin’ sword he’s about to hit me! :bluu:

**

That can’t be right. Chain Critical is when you chain a Critical into another. I think I can do this one… but I can already see that it’s gonna take forever.

**

I put this piece of shit thing on and I haven’t seen what supposed to happen to see the enemy timings on a critical. I figured maybe they were supposed to blink or something when you attack… but I didn’t see shit. :wtf:

**

Yeah, that’s how I’m gonna start doing it from now on. I got it down to like 39 once… but then I got beasted because I got too greedy. (Kept trying to “Just Defend Critical” one of them and kept getting hit by their spinning slash attack).

**

Haven’t beaten the game yet, but I figure I’m close to the end. I just wanna get as much stuff done without a walkthrough/strategy guide as I can before I go at it again.

Alternate costumes?! MOTHERFUCKER!! :fury: Now I gotta beat this sonuvabitch! Goes back to playing Onimusha 3

BWAHAHA!!! I finally beat Super Castlevania 4 on SNES, without the damn “save state” cheapness you can use against bosses on an emulator! I did it completely fair…and it was a bitch. Honorable mention goes to effing Death with the cheap-ass sickles…

But as it turned out, Dracula himself wasn’t that tough. He actually gives you health restoring items during the fight! Once I found that out, it was over.

I’m replaying Super Mario world.

haha…I’m playing Super Mario 3(GBAsp) again. I’ve already beat the game of course, but it’s fun to just go to whatever level I want. I pooted a whole ostrich one time.

The downside is that I can’t play the airships again, since they’re already finished. Also, all Toad Houses are gone.

-But I currently have 2.5 million something points, and 155 extra lives.
-Unfortunately I only have 1 Hammer Bros. suit left…I’m in the process of searching around World 6 to see if there’s a spot where I can get more.

-World 5-6 has probably the easiest Tanooki Suit. That particular stage is really easy, and in seconds you’re in a secret room with the big item box…a Tanooki Suit is in there. Now it doesn’t matter if I lose it, as I just head back to 5-6 to get another one. I also like to revisit 5-3(or 2?) just to get that Kuribo’s Shoe over and over.

-So many memories brought back here…in World 1-4, I think…there’s a spot with a “T” formation of green pipes.(it’s the 1st hilly stage in the game.) Goombas come out of the pipe, and there’s a flying Goomba coming from the right. Here, you can(with a racoon tail) just hit the Flying one, and float down, stomp the other one, and float down, and more Goombas keep coming out of the pipe. Repeat and you’ll get 1ups once you go past 8000 points a hit. I forgot all about this until playing it again on GBA! Unfortunately, I think they cut you off at 11 extra lives. Seriously, this thread is old as hell.

-World 6 is still the most frustrating.:bluu: It’s still the only world I don’t have “Perfect!” on.
-This is one of the greatest games ever.
Sheeeit, I’m in the future, playing this game called Gears of War 3 every day.

Now that is a great game! One of my fav Castlevania titles for sure. And you beat it on the SNES? Bravo! I think if many new-school gamers played SCIV they would probably cry and say it’s too difficult.

Damn what a let down that is. I was hoping you could replay the battle ships again. Can you replay the tank levels in world 8?

I also read theres some new levels in smb3 if you had the e-reader cards. I wonder what kind of levels they are…

im playing crimson skies and all this oni 3 talk has caused me to go back and try to unlock everything else.

yeah i think when its at level 3 you just critical everyone automatically, though i could be wrong.has anyone went ogre on ranmaru during the first fight every slash is an issen.

Think of it as, just as opponet start to attack you, so for the initial foot soldiers, it does mean when they slash or charge you, but for big hammer guys, it means when they start to swing, so it is a bit deceptive. If you have hard time in this, just do the “sidestep” critical, but that you need to know how the enemy is striking, so u dont step right into the attack.

**
That can’t be right. Chain Critical is when you chain a Critical into another. I think I can do this one… but I can already see that it’s gonna take forever.

I misunderstood that as combo critical where u strike multiple times on a single guy. But for chain critical, either your critical strikes multiple guys at once, or just mash attack after the first critical. key is have them bunched up cuz you can only go so far in the next ones.

Thats right, it shows the counterattack critical timing.

glad to see you get the hang of it. Just try harder.

Whats your current time of the game? You might took too much time so some stuff will not get unlocked.

I’d expect you to laugh your ass off for Jacques’ costume. It is more hilarious that ichi’s in Onimusha 2~

Yep, beat it old-school style.

And yeah, CV4 was the absolute best, besides SOTN.
