Oh man. Ultimate Spider-Man continues to rock. Even with the different, simplified swing system, swinging around Ultimate NY is a blast. UNY may not be as big as the NY in Spidey 2, but it’s still pretty huge. And Shocker is as big a loser in the games as he is in the comics. I think I’ve already fought him 7 times now.
There are even some unlockable costumes, 7 in all I think but I haven’t gotten any yet. You gotta be dedicated if you wanna get these babies. There are also unlockable story boards, landmarks, comic covers, etc. The comic covers are just that though, covers, which sucks. All told though, this is a better game than Spidey 2. And it more than does the comic book justice. If Brian Bendis and Mark Bagley are playing this game, I bet they can’t stop smiling.
yeah…^ I wonder why not include a whole unlockable comic in games like this? In Hulk there are also some covers for several Hulk comics. What’s even worse though…at least from what I remember…you can’t even zoom in on the art. It’s just there.
I’ve heard about the costumes…I already know there is at least the symbiote costume for Spiderman…I forgot the others…and unfortunately thanks to Gamefaqs boards…I’ve already been spoiled on at least one major guest star. (*typical Gamefaqs spoiler situation…the guys put the crucial info right into the thread title…and then put the word “spoilers…” right after it. It’s funny to see. For example, imagine if this were way back in the early 80s and there was a thread like this: "OMG! Vader=Luke’s Daddy! SPOILERS". Hilarious.)
After looking through the Sunday ads…yes, apparently Ninja Gaiden Black is out already. I need at least 3-5,000 extra on my salary just to keep up with all these games coming out.
*sidenote—for some reason, I’m just not believing the hype about games becoming more expensive in the next generation. Perhaps later on in the Xbox 3/PS4/WhateverNintendo era…but this upcoming generation really isn’t such a huge leap from the current one. I think it may be a small increase and that’s it…like the average price will go up to 54.99, rather than 49…that’s not really a big deal.
Finally beat KOTOR1 today. Went Light Side with pistols only. I DO NOT recommend doing that unless you like ultimate frustration. Plan on playing now Ico and KOTOR2, along with the usual FFXI.
I’m not sure how far I am in USM, just a bit after fighting Rhino. Too much time spent looking for/doing all the coins. Ran into a glitch on the pc version where I’d be fine, get into a mission and start dead haha, even if I decline re-trying, I’m dead on top of the house. GG, time to reload.
Playing Duns/Dragons Dragonshard, it has the whole “upper/lower” world thing like Armies of Exigo (which is one of the worst rts games ever) and well, DDD is better just not something thats interesting enough, let alone going through long load times and lacklustre battlesystem. The interface is pretty weak too.
Soo, instead I’m playing Nba live 2006… in goddamn chinese since the eng. one isn’t out yet. =\
I just discovered a “Dual Play” mode in Raiden III - the option to play 2 ships at once. I actually did pretty good - I got through the first level without dying…but right as I was finishing off the 1st boss, a helicopter came off-screen and killed my 1p Ship with a shot.
Other than that, I didn’t do 1/2 bad, and it’s definitely a fun mode of play.
Some people are just very through, and want you to think exactly what they are thinking. Works for me. I’m the same way, but often I’m too lazy to type it all out.
Million usually says what’s on everyone’s mind.
I just broke out (well, turned on) the Dreamcast after not playing it for a while. I forgot how good KOF 99’ is on DC. Played some Space Channel 5, and I went through each KOF from 98’, 99’, 00’, 01’, and 02’.
Just for shits and giggles. I hate how I’ve left it behind, but the games I want are now on PS2, and even the KOF collections are coming. If they were to bring out double impact for PS2, I’d be all over it, and then I could put away my DC for good.
More on Ultimate Spider-Man: Fought Vemon for the second time. My word, was he tough. That suit he’s wearing must be made out of the material that’s on the head of Thor’s hammer because it took FOREVER to get him down to almost no health. Advice for anyone who hasn’t fought Venom yet, when your Spider-Sense goes off, make sure you are nowhere near Venom or he’s going to whip out those tendrills on you.
Oh and does anyone remember what a pushover the Rhino was in past Spidey games? This isn’t your daddy’s Rhino in USM. It actually took me a few tries to beat him and the fight was a long one. Just watch for flying cars and watch your Spider-Sense.
I’m more compelled to play USM and explore because the story is leagues better than the one in Spidey 2. Not long ago I climbed to the top of what looks to be the tallest building in the game so far. And it wasn’t the Chrystler Building. It was some building that was still being worked on but now I’m about to dive off from it.
:pleased:
Still trying to beat MGS3 on extreme with no alerts or kills. Its just so hard passing the parts where you have no camo. Once I get past that I should be ok.
More on Ultimate Spider-Man: This game continues to rock. I ran into Electro and that dude does NOT screw around. He was breaking out all the stops, coming at me at full power. I fought him in a city wit a bunch of neon signs. Every time I damaged him he could keep feeding off the signs to recharge his health. So with Venom’s awesome strength, I picked up a car and threw it at some of the signs and at Electro.
Then Silver Sable actually thought she’d be able to capture Venom. I slapped that broad all over the place!! Then she sent her men on me. Messing those guys up was great fun. I fed off of them and then picked up the cars they were in and threw them at their own men. When I needed to, I evaded them by leaping through the air with amazing Hulk-like jumps. Of course I didn’t count on Silver sending this killer choppters on me. Those things caused major damage and the only way to really get them off you was to run while they shot at me and take them out when they ceased fire. When I was clear to procceed to the next area, I leapt through the city, stopping to feed when I needed to. I was low on health so I was afraid I wouldn’t make it but I did. Whew, what a rush!!
Beat MGS3 on extreme. No alerts. 5 kills… I dont even know how thats possible unless bosses count. And that one guy I kicked in the water and zoned hoping it wouldnt count as a kill. Well anyway got Chameleon rank.
