The "Currently Playing" Game Thread-Discuss Your Games, Vent, Give Props, etc

I’m currently playing Onimusha 3. The action is great but the voice acting is weird.

Hey it can’t be any worse than House of The Dead II/Typing of The Dead. Worst VA… EVER!!

No one here in the Philippines could beat my C-Blanka(with another Blanka) .

Anways, the really good players(here…locally…dammit), don’t use Cammy, Sagat or Blanka… In the past 4 tournaments, no one who won the tourney used Cammy, Blanka or Sagat… eventhough most of the players do(I won using e. honda, sagat and blanka <— the closest thing to a CBS). It just take incredible know-how of footsies and strats to win… and you won’t resort to CBS or A teams.

I just got Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel (PS2) in the mail today so I’m going to be playing the crap outta that game.

.

Another good GC game that you could get is Ultimate Muscle. I don’t care for wrestling games anymore, but this is over-the-top animated-style fun!

The game is fun without being overly simple, and it’s a total blast to play, plus you should be able to find it for under $20 now! I whole-heartedly recommend it, as it is one of my favorite games.

Also, go out and reserve the PS2 Ultimate Muscle game. It’s coming out in a few months - I got to play the demo, and it is the hotness! 48 characters slots! It’s insane! Plus, they added more grapples and takedowns, so it’s looking really good.

Thanks. I don’t think I’ll get into this game 2player though, as (unlike MvC2) there are no cabs in my locale, and I don’t get to go to Metro Manila that often.

on the squaresoft tip lately…

i’m again playing and reaching the end of final fantasy tactics… thinking about continuing, but it’s just getting really dry. i must’ve started this damn game like 29387432 times, but i always quit in the middle. this time around, i dedicated myself to having a bomb ass calculator (two of em actually), and it just makes every damn battle easy. having one pimped out calculator makes the game easier than having orlandu. late game battles should be tough, but they go wussy on you and you can sweep the board with a CT5Flare or Holy anyway, making it oh so anticlimactic. but i guess thats the fruit of my labor (i.e. running around with a sped up calculator and using accumulate for about an hour).

i bought ff8 last week because i never played it when it first came out… is it just me or does this game just suck? wasn’t this game the shiznittlebamsnipsnapzap when it first came out? i’m not sure if it’s because i’m subconsciously comparing this to ffx or if it’s just plain boring, but i had to put the damn controller down after 20 minutes of it. it seems like it was just made half-assed. anyone recommend that i keep going with this one?

other games of note:

river city ransom (DRAGON FEET, sucka… and it’s coming out on gba soon, so pick it up if you’ve never played)

super dodgeball (from the makers of river city ransom, it’s a game about dodgeball… the super kind)

third strike

halo… “ain’t nothin’ wrong with that”

surprisingly i use my ps2 more for psx games lately…

Well, I’ve finished everything single-player on Double Dash!! I have to say that the second hidden character set sucks. Petey Pirhana looks retarded. He’s too big, and those petals around his head/mouth looks really stupid. Both Petey and his partner, King Boo, have really stupid looking karts. They’re designed after the warp pipes from the Mario Bros. games, and it just doesn’t work for a car.

But anyway, other than that, I really enjoyed this game and am looking forward to some multiplayer action once my friends and I can arrange a good time.

I guess I’ll start in on Serious Sam: Next Encounter now.
EDIT: Fighter, you finished Sam:Next yet? If so, how was the last level? The final level in Sam 2 took me a loooong time to beat. Also, were there any mass Kamakazi waves?

That’s too bad. Playing you SF games, makes you better at other traditional fighter games aswell.

Tessa owns Morrigan in Pocket Fighter. I like her moves much better and I surpassed my ranking as no.1 with Morrigan as Tessa. Of course since I hate Morrigan, I’m probably just looking for a reason to bash on that Halloween-hoe.

Just rented and beat Onimusha 3 this weekend. Just as good, if not better than Ninja Gaiden.

I’ve competed Pocket Fighter with all 12 fighters. The game is a bit on the cheap side but it was still fun. Dan had the best ending. He took Sakura on as a student and he got a letter back from her sometime later:

“I’ve already mastered everything you’ve taught me but I have decided to disregard everything you’ve taught me. All of your moves look retarded in addition to being useless in a fight. See ya, loser!”

Dan Cries

Best ending EVAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

I’d forgotten about that ending, R.H.!

I got the new XBox Magazine (June) from Blockbuster, and tried out Metal Slug 3, Psi-Ops, and Chronicles of Riddick - all of them are must haves!

Psi-Ops is excellent - you use your telekinesis to move things in the environment around and use them as weapons. You’ve got pyrokinesis to set things on fire. You can use your telekinesis to levitate yourself on top of an object to move to and from places that you couldn’t normally walk. You’ve got mind control…you can take over enemies minds and use them to kill their fellow troops…LOTS of great ideas! But the best part is in how you choose to use them. You can set a wooden crate on fire, then throw it at the enemy…or you can even grab an enemy and throw him into something that will explode. You can also levitate someone and them shoot them while they are in the air.

Metal Slug 3 is a perfect translation, so far. You only get one level, but they made it harder - if you lose all 3 lives, you start over from the beginning of the level!

Chronicles of Riddick - Now THIS is the shit…it has a perfect “movie” feeling…and later in the game, you get the “eye shine”. BEAUTIFUL visuals. Just play the demo and see. It plays kinda like Breakdown/FPS, but you can see your characters feet, arms (when you punch) and shadows.

Ack…my list of “to get” titles for 2004 has increased to nearly 20 games!

Well I’ve played Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel for over 2 hours now on my PS2. I have to say I like it. Its deeper than I thought. I originally thought I’d just shoot fools with guns but it turns out your characters gain levels and you can talk to people, buy items, etc. Its like an RPG except with a top view perspective and lots and lots of action. Just cleared out a Warehouse of Radscorpions. Should have known there would be one huge boss at the end of it…

PLaying Unreal Tournamnet 2004. Playing a lot of invasion and team death match. Onslught gets repetive but its still a good game. Im tired of playing with people that only camp for redeemer though and im tired of playing small maps in 20 man servers. Good fun but will be replaced as soon as i find mvc2 or cvs2 for my xbox.

Just got me MAME and a boatload of shmups… so now I’m playing Battle Garega, Donpachi, Dondonpachi, ESP.ra.de, and Gigawing. I have planty more to go through, to.

Just beat Super Metroid again. 71% in 2:51. I’d like to get under two hours before I gotta give it back, so away I go.

I recently started and gave up on Breakdown (xbox). It just stopped being fun when it started getting ridiculously hard. They think your guy is like Jet Li taking on 6 crippled dudes. You play a warrior (no spoilers), and they have you fighting 5 alien warriors. At the same time, and some of them have beams.

Metal Arms: Glitch in the System is a really fun game. I reccomend it to everyone.

I’m leveling up in Disgaea, I’m so damn far behind in that game, ugh. I’m unlocking everything in Onimusha 3, and I recently played Naruto: Gekitou Ninja Taisen 2!!!(the fighting game for GC)

I LOVE NARUTO:GNT2!!! that game is so fun with a bunch of ppl, 6 of us were playing that game, and we got hooked. If SSB:M is party game crack, N:GNT2 is PCP
