I like how my friend’s organization bought thousands of Apple products. Funny how he is all smug “you should buy them because they’re American” when it even says on the computers that they’re only designed in California but actually made in China.
It’s always the same flow. Try to replace full timers with part timers. Try to replace part timers with paid interns. Try to replace paid interns with free interns. Use your imagination to how bad it can be that people actually kill themselves.
It’s happening in the US too. Companies replacing full time positions with free interns who really don’t know anything. Many organizations, which I won’t expose for my own reasons, actually have had a steady decline since interns cost the organization more as product and service quality decline and when the interns mess up you really wish you just hired a normal employee who gets work done and doesn’t create problems and not some intern because idiots with business degrees just think reduce spending and increase profits and don’t know anything about how technology works and what consequences arise when important spending is cut.
It’s no surprise since people who get to the top must do whatever it takes; human lives are expendable and can be sacrificed for profit. Once you understand this, the decisions that big business and government make become clear. My position in this world is small and at several points in my life I had opportunities for personal gain at others’ expenses, and I have declined each time whereas others wouldn’t even hesitate. Two paths diverged and I took the one less traveled, you can say.
Silencing people doesn’t work out usually. I would rather people voice their disappointment by, you know, using their voice. Not “other” means. I heard also that the device causes permanent migraines in some cases. Not like the user would care though.
If you even wanna make products, you don’t just fire a big chunk of your workforce and expect the rest to pick up the slack. That only works in the short term. You wanna make more profits? Build another factory and hire a lot more workers to increase production.
Jeeze, if these people played an RTS they’d know this by now.
Before people get into Black March here, there’s already a thread for that:
Yea, a lot of people say stuff like that but I just smile or nod, then move on. The transition I mentioned isn’t an instant one, but it can be observed when analyzing an organization’s lifespan in today’s world. By the way, your post reminded of SC: BW and how much I miss it (I think SC2 sucks and not playing it).
I would have loved the S.T.F.U-2000 while I was dating a particularly lippy female-- that would have spared me a lot of headaches… It would have prevented some bruised knuckle, too.
So Ricky Santorum misinterprets JFK’S “Keeping-Religion-out-of-Politics”/“Separation-of-Church-and-State” speech, and says it makes him wanna throw up because he thinks JFK is saying that ‘only the non religions/Atheists can/should only be the ones in politics’.
Now I’m more leaning towards Atheism/Confucianism/Budhism, but even I (and any person who thinks before he talks) understood what JFK was saying. I’ll sum it up like this: ***“You can be a Christian, Jew, Muslim or whatever the fuck your religion is and still be in politics, but when you’re in the House of Congress/Town Halls/The White House/Debate Halls/ect., STFU about it while you are there and don’t make anything and everything about your Religion.” ***
…I wish we had Atheist leaders… not the ‘I hate all religion’ ones, but the ones who don’t give a shit what your are or what you believe in.
Of course it would be slanted against them, why give the populace the opportunity to think for themselves or have the realisation that the Gov’ment isn’t needed?
and how is this bad?
The Freemen-on-the-land creed:
And God said; I will provide all that you ask for: THINK!
I will fulfil all of your needs: THINK!
Imagine, dream and think are three different words with three different definitions.
You can imagine a billion dollars.
You can dream about a billion dollars.
Now, if you thought about it, spent a little time thinking about it, you wouldn’t know what to do with a billion dollars. Whereas,
What you can think about is, a good roof over your head, your family clothed and fed and not have to worry about your horse and cart (mode of transport) being stolen everyday by the crown.
Most of the piece is spent discussing the ridiculously small percentage of them who turn out to be violent cases. It spends something like less than a minute reminding the audience that the vast majority have caused no trouble at all and are simply trying to live outside a system that they disagree with.
I’ve said it before, but the current state of journalism, at least on this side of the pond, is a fucking wasteland. It does not keep the public informed. Most of it seems dedicated to inoculating viewers’ brains against inconvenient ideas–in this case, the idea that people don’t have to accept an authoritative power structure that was there before they were born and never bothered asking them whether or not they wanted to live under it.
