Jim Sterling is probably the biggest troll on the internet come full circle to being a respected voice by offering slightly more articulated (only slightly) trollish opinions. I don’t know, jokes are one thing, but being an asshole on a personal level towards one person non stop, is a different thing. I think after being asked to stop only to keep doing it because he thinks it’s cool to not give a shit, there is no situation in which he is in the right.

The FGC is all about talking trash and blowing each other up, sure, but it usually stays pretty focused on the games doesn’t it. You talk about how free the other person is, how much better you are, their standing in the community and so on. You don’t talk about peoples family, loved ones, personal issues, etc. Everyone knows there’s a line, and if you cross that line it’s not about the game anymore.

Did Aris cross that line? Eeehh, I’m not sure. I personally wouldn’t have taken offense that way, judging from what I’ve actually seen on the stream. But people are different man.

Anyway, I’d be fine with this if it was just another situation when someone crossed the line. Happens all the time. But the “OMG a real girl! boobies!” element to this is just so fucking pathetic and reinforces every negative gamer stereotype. To have that happen on Cross Assault is just fucking embarrassing for the entire community. Doesn’t matter where you’re from, East coast, West coast, UK, fucking Siberia, it reflects badly on all of us. That’s what’s really annoying about this.
