This makes more sense for the eliminated players to keep trying. Thank you.
CAPCOM, PLEASE READ THIS! Give the winner’s teammates an incentive to help each other out!
lol subzero
True, true. However, you must understand something, it’s not so easy to make such a sudden change. If Rockefeller had at least some Street Fighter 4 experience, it would help him a bunch, but he lacks that.
It’s like expecting a Marvel 3 player to be good at Soul Calibur.
I’ll take that bet.
Also, I can pick 10 people who’ve never played a particular game and make it look ass, too.
The badguy in Rockefallas eyes not the stream monsters. With two votes against Rock, Renic voting for himself is the same as voting against Rock.
In top shot they vote there own team mates off every time and you don’t see any of them acting like whiny bitches after. Cross Assault will now be watched for more then just the main event by me, can’t wait to see sub trying to sabotage the fuck out team street fighter.
Faulty wiring will be an issue.
I’m not usually one to hate, but this show is fucking ass.
I don’t see how some people are still convinced that this game isn’t going to be huge… Everyone who touches it has nothing but positive things to say about Street Fighter X Tekken; not to mention the fact that almost every significant pro player appears to be hyped for the game. Only a couple of very vocal scrubs on Eventhubs and Shoryuken are really trash talking the game; very few people who have any experience with it are condemning it. But I guess every last one of them is a Capcom shill?
So yeah, I will take your bet. I bet you that the scene will be stronger after the release of Street Fighter X Tekken; there will still be a few dissenters (as there always is), but most will happily migrate.
I also want to take this bet. I haven’t heard any legit players bad mouth the game after spending time with it.
Even dr sub who was sitting on top a mountain of salt said he would probably play it.
Wait what about betting? I got 50 bucks on 200yen winning Cross Assault
Serious as a heart attack
I think he only said that after getting an evil eye from off set, lol. I’d be shocked if he ever played this game again.
Show’s ass.
Hope Renic or 200 Yen win just so we can see some useful technology.
Only thing worth really watching are going to be the matches between all the top players.
Also glad to see Rock is finally able to be raw, we all knew he wasnt going to win simply because he’s been playing WoW for too long. The rust was too strong. It was nice seeing him do some 3S tactics, like the walk back, walk forward, throw… but he obviously needs some time with the game or at least with 3rd Strike again so he can space well like he used to. I miss that Urien, Rock.
All in all, shit is free to Renic and 200 Yen. Possibly Josh, possibly Bronson if he was actually sandbagging. Just wish it would be March 6th so we can get this shit over with and see all the real tech that comes out.
Edit: Oh, and all the people still defending the show and thinking that Rock is a “dick” for saying what he said are retarded. I thought I would love this show, I even thought day 1 was pretty good. But day 2 changed everything. This was the worst, poorly produced, piece of shit reality show I’ve ever took the trouble of watching. Rock just told everyone what was actually up and some people riding Capcom’s dick won’t accept that as reality. Sad shit.
That said, game still looks fun and Im getting it. Just get this retarded excuse for a reality show over with.
This show is really, really bad.
I think Renic did the right thing for the team as it would have been very awkward to put Valle in that position. If he got the choice and then the person avoided getting eliminated, chances are that would hurt the relationship between the two of them.
I really think Sub could have brushed off some more of that rust with another day. If you ask me, in order of potential it was Josh/Renic/Sub/Sherry/Hornett in order of skill level to start with and experience with similar games (SF4, Marvel 3, Tekken(sorta)) it was Josh/Hornet/Sherry/Renic/Sub.
There are a few distinct issues with the cross assault show. It had potential but it was poorly put together:
-
The host. Not to knock the guy, he even admitted he was really nervous later on when Sp00ky was filming day 1 at dinner. However he is obviously not the right guy for the job. He has no charisma or “stage presence” and he obviously is not used to being a speaker. The host should have been somebody more used to being on camera, even somebody from outside of Capcom. Maximilian might have actually been a good host as long as they went over the rules with him carefully, he has decent “vamping” skills a good speaking voice, and is used to performing in front of cameras.
-
The rules. As per Capcom’s standard for things, they did a poor job putting them together and didn’t release any information to the public or only partial information. They take the phones away from the players and coaches during the show to prevent communication, they don’t allow the players to watch the streams. However reading the stream chat isn’t against the rules? Anything involving the stream (who is put on the stream, how it is run, reading chat, reviewing the stream, camera angles, ALL of it) should not be allowed to be interfered with or interacted with by people participating in the competition, that means players AND coaches. Rules should be posted on the webpage for review (noone understood the pandora elimination system in place).
-
Content. The horsehead is funny and all, but “no swearing” is frankly a retarded rule. The 5minute trial idea was a little lame and poorly planned due to things that aren’t universal (loading times vary slightly, character ending animations vary MASSIVELY, super animations vary MASSIVELY.)
-
Direction. They seriously need to get someone to direct these pack of chimps, they can’t hold the mic in front of their face when talking. Seth had a mic on his shirt day 1 and because he apparently was hopped up on coke he couldn’t sit still and kept rubbing his head scratching his back and such thus shoving the mic into his neck causing feedback and/or poor quality sound. BOOM MIC THESE GUYS.
-
Prize system. They (afaik) never disclosed what the team coaches are getting out of this. However having everyone compete for 1 prize is poor planning as they leave ZERO incentive for eliminated people to even give a shit. What does Kor get out of his team winning? What does Sub walk away from all this with besides a t shirt? Everyone who participated should get like a “thanks for playing” prize of a copy of the game, a small token cash prize, and maybe the low-end madcatz fight stick(or pad). The team that wins should get a “team prize” that is split evenly among all participants on the team (10k split 5 ways. And 15K for the actual winner of the tournament would have been a good reason for you to make sure your team still wins even if you lose on the grand prize.)
Well this is a result of the game not being built for trial races and no one was forced to pick a particular character. I don’t agree it was lame, though, since I thought it was a good exhibition of the game’s combo options.
Valle, Renic and Rockefeller have known each other for many years, especially Rock and Valle. They’ve teamed together for 3S SBO Quals like twice. If anything, Rock probably wouldn’t have taken it as hard if Valle was the one who voted him in(and you could tell he was gonna vote Rock).

I think he was trolling with some of the comments but also pretty obvious was a bit pissed off. Now that he has cooled down a bit he is more level headed.

This I completely believe. Sub always says stream chat is the best part of any show, he is def one of those “your hate makes me stronger” type guys.
No one was allowed to pick the same character on the same team. That is why Renic went with Toro since Sherry picked Ryu.
I agree that Renic should have voted Sherri. By doing that, he would let Valle make the final call, which is how it should have been all along IMO, and he would probably have negated some of the negative feelings Subzero will now have against his team players. Because no matter how you see it, letting Valle having to choose between Sherri and Subzero (no matter how obvious it was that Valle probably would pick Subzero) would still give Subzero a better chance of staying on the show, than making the decision there and then by voting on yourself. It’s like pulling a lever to drop someone down a pit rather than physically pushing them. Sure it’s more impersonal to use the lever and therefor an easier choice, but it’s still the same as pushing them into the pit in the end.
