THE Combo Video thread (New Releases + Commentary)

My second combovideo, i had some other music planned but i noticed i just started doing filler combos because i ran out of steam.
So it didnt turned out the way i wanted it but i hope you can find something useful in it.
As soon as i can log into my filefront ill put up a downloadlink.
Recovery roll on all combos there was follow ups after knockdown even the anonym super after knee.

critisicm is welcome

Cross-posted from the “New CVS2 stuff” thread:

I made another CvS2 video. After the moderate success of the King video I thought I could get away with making a longer and slightly flashier video.
A Closer Look at Haohmaru

I hope you enjoy it.

I liked it, everything was explained really well. Ace tutorial!

New CvS2 Video.

The anti-air combo versus vega, with the Hurricane that was rc right? that would have been nice to note somehow in the video. The combo off the sweep was amazing though very hot! And umm just a little nitpicky thing it would have been nice to show that you can juggle after his super ender just once on the video just so people know. But still another great video.

really could use soem critisicm

Unfortunately I don’t know much about akanazi blitzjewpuncher.

 • Content. Minimal editing.
 • Some of the content looked “interesting” or “strange”.
 • No in game sounds
 • The music really doesn’t fit.
 • Dead space before and after combos. The dead space at the end of the combo is probably intentional so that you can show that tech rolling is on, but it is kind of large dead space. You could probably cut the dead space before the combo and shorten the dead space at the end.
 • No subtitles explaining anything.
 • Title screen is kind of weird. You could probably mention what the game is and what game version it is at the title screen. Just so people know what they are looking at when the video first starts (I know you show it at the end but… it’s at the end).
 • At 1:11 the opponent gets off the ground and smacks the other dude in the face. If that was intentional to show that it could be done then it could use a subtitle. If it was unintentional then might want to just cut it.
 • Seems kind of random/scattered.

the quality of sound i can capture isnt really worth it and i think its more about personal preference

In what way? Sync or is it about personal preference? Several people say that the music fits.

ok thanks

I never intended to make a tutorial.

and i wanted minimal editing and short intro, it would make more sense with the other music i had planned. If you want ill pm you a link to the “beta”

Yeah Cyberlink messed up my clips apparently.

Anyway thanks for the critique, much appreciated.

well its really hard to hit after the super at time and differentr characters.
Yeah that was an RC one.

BUt overall glad you liked the video :pleased:

Great vids, both Haohmaru and Akuma.
I really liked the way the CCs were transcripted um Haoh’s vid.

Hrmm dunno if it works, it might though, sounds plausable… Only thing I can say is perhaps duck hs knocks them to high at first, so you may need to make opponent heavy before hand so they are lower to ground…

Anyway my video is about half down now(I was hopeing sooner but been pretty sick/out of it lately so takeing longer then I wanted to do it), and ive uploaded the final preview for it to my youtube crapola. Anyway hopefully ive saved the best stuff for last. So… please look foward to it or something! thanks.

Hype!

vid of the year

mark my words

Haha, nice. Using Fantomas as background music is a nice change.

What’s the trouble with the quality? You shouldn’t have any trouble capturing high quality since this is a computer game after all. Adjust the volume levels in windows volume control and it should be a non issue.

I disagree that it has anything to do with personal preference. The in-game sounds have a lot to do with the video, it adds a lot to each character’s charisma and to the feel of the video. It makes a huge difference.

It has no emphasis anywhere. It also doesn’t mesh well with the fast action, so it doesn’t keep pace.

To me it makes about as much sense as the other Blitzkampf video I’ve seen that used: Die Eier Von Satan by Tool. It sounds all militaristic and hardcore and German whatnot, but the translated lyrics are just a recipe for brownies and it has nothing to do with anything which I think is silly.

If you watch some of Ikusat’s videos you’ll notice the way he uses music is to emphasize and choreograph his videos so that the important parts of a track will sync with important parts of the video. Or rather, visual impacts sync with audible impacts.

You can see some of Ikusat’s videos here:

Good example . But seriously I urge you to watch all of his videos because he does an excellent job with choreography.

Even so, some of the clips looked impractical or very situational or buggy or have something interesting about them in one way or another. It’d be nice if some of the clips had a little subtitle with just a little FYI of what’s going on. This kind of content is already known by the hardcore crowd, and the people who aren’t hardcore probably don’t know what’s going on and could use a little info (like myself).

Thanks! I hope i didnt sound overly defensive it wasnt my intention. I have really learned much and hopefully my third vid if i make it will be even better.
