So what’s the verdict already? Have I lost my touch?

You made a video? Now way man, that was awesome… Just get a move on with 3S Vol. 2 and everything will be fine…

There are probably aliens from outerspace that are waiting for Vol. 2 to drop. Thongboy will be the doom of us all!

First vid is MAJOR WTF, I wanna know what that guy’s smokin’!
Gonna watch 2nd vid now, but I have an, errr ‘announcement’ to make-
My very first RELEASED combo vid!
The other day I finished working on a somewhat n00bish KoF 2K1 combo vid.
I’m not very good at video editting, but tried as best as I can with Windows Movie Maker which I used to make this vid.
At any rate this n00bish KoF 2K1 combo vid contains Corner Combos that CAN be performed in a match, and contains ZERO of the BS u’d see in other KoF ‘exhibition’ combo vids. I even added a .txt file to show u how to do the combos!
So plz give it a watch and tell me what u think about it. Sorry for using SendSpace, but it’s the fastest host I can use for uploading in my country…

It’s funny, I kind of like the video, but mostly because I don’t play KoF so I haven’t seen the DMs in forever. If I was a KoF player I probably wouldn’t have liked it as much. STOP READING RIGHT HERE UNLESS YOU ENJOY HEARTLESS CRITICISM.

Critique

[details=Spoiler]So then, it’s a bit difficult to judge the video. As a video editor, editing is pretty meh. Standard plug-in transitions and plain text title cards. As a player, the combos seem like stuff I could come up with the first hour I started playing. And you should never whiff moves (a couple of attempts at juggling at the end of some of the clips) in a finished video, it looks sloppy.

Overall, I’m not sure who this video is supposed to be for. Though everyone else scoffs, the KoF community seems to LIKE those godawfully over-edited videos, so it’s not really for them. And being as KOF 2k1 has been out a while now, a noob tutorial would be good, but this isn’t really a tutorial. Just some Day 1 combos slapped together with whatever transitions were in the default pack.[/details]

It’s your first video though, so don’t despair. My first video was godawful, and beyond the six people that saw it I’ve resolved not to ever release it until I have ten official releases, to blot out its memory, haha. Steal a copy of Adobe Premiere and/or Aftereffects and make some more stuff.

i could use some critique and pointers, also names of good capturing programs

Pretty cool cmv TRT. The game looks pretty cool…A unique choice as well for the music…

For some reason it seems really weird and choppy. Haha, I know the game is like that anyway, but it seems a little further off. Also, it seems like it would be easier to understand if the ends of combos weren’t cut off by the transitions.

Generally I think in-game sound effects should always be used whenever possible, but that’s up to you.

And… use Premiere. I prefer 6.5, but that’s because I refuse to change.

N

Yeah had problems of getting over 15 fps output with camstudio for some reason.

Ok thanks

Do you mean for editing or screenrecording?

I guess both, if you can swing it. People use a lot of different stuff for recording, I dunno what’s better than what (except that godawful suite Pinnacle forces on people). I’ve never had a problem doing anything with Premiere though, me.

N

Ok thanks, another question:
Do you think the clips follow the music?

How do you mean? I think the music is a good choice, if the video were a little more polished it would flow nicely. Otherwise, it’s no worse than anything else, but no better really either.

Hello everybody.

I am Johannes Goeth from germany and I just finished my own 3rd strike
combovideo. I think it is pretty cool and I hope you will think so too.
I would be pleased if you rate it and/or right some comments.

3rd Strike Combovideo:

As you will see in the video all combos were made without any tools, programms or
programmable sticks. I just used a Hori Real Arcade Pro.
The 2 non-combo-scenes with Gouki really happend in casual fight against my
brother.

bye bye Hannes4D

congrats on finishing a combo video :wgrin:
There are some cool combos in there and you managed to get quite a bit of content in. The short bits of actual match play were interesting also.
now for the bits I didn’t like:
-I didn’t like any of the songs (personal taste, though a lot of people have said rap music doesn’t go well with combo videos)
-No game sound
-Some of the combos were not anything we haven’t seen before (the necro stuff comes to mind)
-the random 2d art in between felt out of place

other than that, good job.
