Going to a formal wedding in about 2 weeks. i ended up buying some cheap ass grey suit in Mens Warehouse. So was wondering, what do you guys think of a good pair of shoes to go with a suit. Do you think brown would be ok or go with a traditional black.
I’d say that brown looks better with a gray suit in general. Especially being summer it helps break things up and give it some warmth.
Straight up google grey suit brown shoes and you’ll get great examples right off the bat.
I’m going to be in a similar situation in about a month and am going to try and pull off something like the above image.

Personally, I’d go with brown because black is boring as fuck. If you’re not a pussy you can even wear some weirder colors and patterns. Try these in denim:

The varying leather pattern is a hella unique look. Just stay away from black shoes. That shit is weak.
I hate the look of cloth formal shoes. My eyes just love the look of leather.

I like Raz0r’s style but that budget kills me. I’ve had good luck with BedStu and seen come nice Cole Haan at more reasonable prices for what I consider quality shoes.

Yeah i dont think im going to spend that much on shoes…This will probably be just a one time wear until the next wedding or formal event…I probably go to one of these ever 5-7years…

Recommend a dress shirt color & tie…My wife is a bridesmaid & she is wearing maroonish red w/ gunmetal heels…So trying to match each other a bit or not…
You could try and go a bit inverse of the wife. If she’s going deeper reddish tones with dark gray, you’ve got a medium gray suit and could probably go with a pink shirt (if you’re man enough for it). I’m bad about picking ties but there’s a ton of stuff out there about what to do for gray suit, pink shirt tie combos.
The shoes seem fine to me particularly because you said they’re going to be worn sparingly. I’d try and find a belt in a similar shade to keep the whole package looking tight.

Wish? Why not just buy Cole Haans? They’re pretty affordable. Most shoes are around the $200-300 range. You’ll only hurt once you go for their real expensive stuff. Most costly shoes of theirs I own are these black leather boots with wingtips and the softest of leathers. I think they were $375 but I forget. Definitely not as bad as other shoes I’ve purchased.
I own a lot of shoes and I don’t even wear many of them. They just look real nice.
I like cole haans but I also like Bass. I’ve been buying bass for years, so it’s like my go to for casual and dress shoes.
