Ok so all you are doing now is proving what I say would be 100%, so not many returned the next day that being Sat. YES US SSF4 PLAYERS DIDN’T COME BACK, but it would only be temporary if we were to just be able to have at least a few lag-less setups. Please think about what I’m doing thoroughly and get past the name SSF4, it’s something that’s going to benefit us all in the long run. The faster I can get the community there to play, the more income they will gross, which in return means them being able to cater to us a ton better…think ahead. Unless of course you think your SFEX and casuals are enough to support a brand new arcade…

Couple questions. For GGA, with SSF4 being on the PS3, can you bring your own stick? I’m assuming you can do this at Dead’s.
Also, what is the schedule for GGA in terms of days open and hours? I check their site but it’s not fully up to date yet. Thanks.

Because the place was supposed to open on the 14th so thats when I choose to come. That was what was posted on their door and on their website and facebook page for the weeks leading up to it. I was surprised to hear Doc say that they’ve been open since midnight on the 13th. Guess I indeed missed out as I was off that day.
This isn’t chess, but remember to only take one step at a time. Though what makes you think that you’re thinking so far ahead of me and what right have you to do that? This isn’t your place, sure you can talk to Doc and perhaps give him some suggestions on what you’d like to see in an “arcade”. But all those steps that you want to lead GGA in isn’t your decision. and all those steps that you want them to take is all for your immediate benefit. Yet you talk to me about being selfish? If you want to talk about 10 steps ahead then think about having computers at every machine recording every match from every cabinet. Where you can purchase direct input CD copies of all of your matches and GGA uploading everything to the internet kinda like a-cho does. But GGA isn’t at that point yet, they’re not at the livestream point nor for weekly ranbats. Give them time to get the arcade working to how THEY want it to be. Get their ST board that they want to get. Get all the games that they have on the floor and in back up and running. Then start talking to them about how they can better serve us and what would entice us to come more often.
and you telling the people here not to come to GGA because on a very hectic openning day they didn’t have time for you to RB2 test their monitors? Who do you think your helping? If you aren’t going by when it isn’t a big event then your not really helping at all. Your not coming by once or twice a week helping to support GGA and give them the funds that they would require to do all of the upgrades that you want them to do. PSX to Jamma converters aren’t cheap and I’m not even sure Laugh is making them anymore. Neither is the cost of labor and parts of redoing every single control panel in that arcade to fit your personal preference for japanese parts.
I’m not sure how me selling them 2 working arcade boards for CHEAP so that they have more working arcade games and thus more incentive for people to come by and play is being selfish. Nor do I recall me asking doc to put in a SFEX cab. Because to be honest with you I know most of you wouldn’t play it and it wouldn’t help the number of entrants for the arcade. I already deemed the SFEX games a lost cause which is quite frankly your loss.
I never said that you’d take over the game room, that all came from you and your selfish demands that an arcade that just opened up a few days ago cater to your every whim just because you say so.
I’m all for japanese sticks and buttons on the fighting game cabs, I’m all for a non laggy TV/monitor to play our fighting games on. and I get the feeling that they’re willing to compromise to help us out. I never said that I didn’t want any of that. Just look at it from their pov though. They took a big risk in opening up an arcade in chicago to begin with(looking at our proven history for not supporting shit) and on the opening day they get some spoiled players that want them to instantly change all their fighting games just to suit their needs when they don’t understand WHY we’re requesting the changes. Not to mention them trying to get another 20-30 games up and running. And they’re just supposed to drop all the other things that need work on the arcade to get something that already works tweaked just cause thats how you like it?
My point still stands that we the SRK fighting game community are not their only clientel and it’d be selfish to think that we are and demand satisfaction for every whim that we have. You clearly have nothing to disprove that as your attacks at my personal preference indicate.

Of course we aren’t their only clientele I never said that we were. No ones being selfish…how is getting them people in the door and possible regulars selfish? Best way to support is to walk in the door right? You are still posting nonsense that helps no one. No one said they needed to fix everything right away, but a good option would be to let us be able to play somehow when we go over so that they can still get some income from our playerbase. Hopefully once they see our dedication things can progress from there. I don’t even see why you are trying to argue…still! You know their own employees came up to me asking for suggestions right? You know they came up to me and told me they wanted us there every weekend? They wanted me to help them, most of them came straight to me as I was already talking to them about them acquiring the majority of the fighting game scene. I can’t help them much if there is no place for the majority to play at, only so many of us are old-schoolers and still play some classics. And I was just suggesting, they were not demands lol. You sir need to sit back and just watch cause you are already making us look bad as it is. All Im trying to do is get our Chicago scene together under one roof for the weekends at least…cause our scene is pretty split. I know you have good intentions but I think GGA can speak for themselves.

even though I’m not playing anything competitive atm, I’d still go to GGA because they got a lot of other shit besides dat sf4. of course I’d always play a few matches of it, but more for trolling purposes then actually caring about the game

From what I am reading Tactics and Shin both want the same outcome… a supported scene regardless if it’s SRK members or just people in general. I know i’m the new guy but all I can say is the less time we spend arguing about what test or who said what or this and that, is the more time we could focus on working together to make things better for everybody.
