OK LISTEN UP EVERYONE, I’ve talked to Doc Mack, the head guy over at Galloping Ghost Arcade already.

So he is indeed having a GRAND OPENING on Friday Night midnight(so technically Saturday) for this arcade. So after talking to him a ton I can tell you guys that his place is going to be a haven for us fighting game players.

He is very ready to listen to the players and give them what they want and is rigging up a PS3 to a 42 inch screen cabinet with SSF4 in it!! He has a total of 6,000 squared feet in his location and he has 2 rooms for console gaming as well! One room has 4 LCD screens with four Xbox 360 systems hooked up along with couches and stuff around, the other room has four LCD with four PS3s hooked up to them as well.

From what I can tell these guys are really wanting to bring pro gamers there and run big tournaments too. I made a few recommendations in regards to the choice of stick parts(sanwa) that most of us are using now and also recommended him to not use any laggy lcds(ill bring rockband 2 with a auto calibration guitar so we can lag-test his screens.)

This is exactly what we needed, a place smack in the middle of the burbs and the city. NO EXCUSES NOW!!! NOW we can all cut the bullshit and compete how it was meant to be.

So with that said there is a very good chance that he will let us(SRK) come in earlier on Friday Night around 8:00-10:00 PM to start playing some casuals and to check the place out! I AM PLANNING ON RUNNING A TOURNAMENT THERE AT MIDNIGHT even if we don’t get in early. But if we are able to get in earlier then I will definitely update the Chicago thread and let you guys know to go ahead and head there early. Show your support Chicago, come show these guys what we are all about. They consider themselves (Galloping Ghost Productions) Pros at games so lets all show up and show them how pro we are :cool:).

The tournament will be the same as the details I posted earlier and we will prob need some people to bring some tube tv s in case the lcds lag. They have a ton of arcade games on the floor as well so its looking too good now!

So for now stay tuned, and I’m going to go ahead and say that people are welcomed to come to my place for casuals untill its time to head to Galloping Ghost Arcade!! I will update this thread with tournament info later on tonight when I head to work as well. My AC unit at my APT is still broke so I’m praying that its fixed by Fri, if not then we can just do the Galloping Ghost thing. So keep your fingers crossed that they will let us in earlier.

Looks like I will most likely go to the Galloping Ghost Arcade grand opening this weekend. Looking forward to seeing a bunch of people there.

opening an arcade in these times is an uphill battle to begin with, they need all the support they can get.

Ari - we have been getting 25-35 or more total (including tekken) pretty consistantly. Last tournament was 29 ppl for super. This time it is the same day as the chicago ranbat unfortunately so if you you guys want points instead of money that’s fine.

For all you guys trying to learn Blazblue and everything, I’d advise you to sign up on Dustloop and start reading up and asking questions on matchups and what to use and what not to. Community is really friendly but they look down on Illinois cause none of us are there.

Also, I started a good Illinois thread, hopefully you guys can come in and show the 5 people that are from Illinois that there is a scene here, they just aren’t looking hard enough.

Wow, Galloping Ghost Arcade is WAY beyond anything I was expecting, that is fucking awesome. I wish I didn’t have plans Friday, but now that I know about this, I almost guarantee they’re going to fall through sometime Friday when it’s too late to do anything about it.

I like the schedule for AreaXIII ranbats. After scrutinizing Google maps for a while, I realized there’s a Metra station close enough that a cab ride wouldn’t be all that expensive, so I’m in. Just a shot in the dark, but if anyone else is thinking about doing the same thing, shoot me a PM, we can split a cab.
