The Chess Thread

You’re at work? You down for a live game?

Ah dammit I missed you but yeah I was.

Yep, that’s me.

I don’t play on Chess.com but I do play Chess with Friends on my phone, any of you guys on there? I’ll look into create a chess.com account

https://www.twitch.tv/chess/v/85266999 Carlsen vs Grischuk

You can find Nakamura vs MVL but MVL got wrecked. Good matches though.

I’m on for live blitz battles for the next two hours in anyone is down to play.

Got in a cool game earlier and ending up winning though there were a few close calls and I’m still a complete n00b.i’m real next to St Louis and we have this fancy chess center in downtown, I need to make my way there.

@BEWD It’s awesome having live competition. There is nothing like that for me.

Also, today I’ll get to publish a tactic problem that I’ve been working on since yesterday. I should take a snapshot of it after I set it up on my computer.

@Naeras @forte95 Make your moves lol

Also I lost my puzzle after I set up my whole board position. Maybe I have some hope of memorizing it

Olympics are starting soon…

Why can’t more girls play fighting games who can actually win or make top 8 like in chess…

@BullDancer lol sorry man, I’ll get right on it. Job hunt is crazy, and I did other SRK stuff so I overlooked this.

@forte95 It is all good man. Congratulations on getting dat Ph. D.

Once you get your job you’ll get to live like a human being. Feel free to play slow. One move a day if you have time.

Thanks man but I wasn’t working on a PhD lmao, just BS.

I go online practically every day so I should still be able to keep up with our games somewhat, though most of my online time is funneled into job hunting.

Nah no rush you have 14 days to make one move lol.

@Naeras Because I don’t want there to be any salt, I’ll warn you that I see a sweet tactic if you move the bishop to the wrong place(not talking about the pawn fork that is blatantly obvious).

EDIT: I found something to submit for a tactics trainers though! I’ll just have it make the wrong move.

  1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 d6 3. d4 cxd4 4. Nxd4 Nf6 5. Nc3 a6 6. Bc4 e6 7. Be3 Nc6 8. Qe2 Be7 9. O-O O-O 10. a4 Qc7 11. Rfd1 Ne5 12. Bb3 Bd7 13. f3 Rfc8 14. Qd2 Nc4 15. Bxc4 Qxc4 16. Nde2 b5 17. axb5 axb5 18. Rxa8 Rxa8 19. b3 Qc7 20. Nd4 b4 21. Nce2 d5 22. exd5 Nxd5 23. Bg5 f6 24. Be3

I’m not sure how simple or hard this one is. But @forte95 find the proper continuation for black. You can post the answer in a spoiler if you choose.

Anybody else interested can attempt an answer too.

DOUBLE EDIT: Damn it’s an easy puzzle it’s just two moves. The most interesting thing is that with enough greed there is a dangerous queen pin. But it’s stoppable sort of.

@BullDancer holy shit man, all your posts are gone…

I didn’t get to check out the puzzle you posted last time. Maybe you have a copy?

Ah the puzzle is part of an ongoing game I’ll repost it.

America in 2nd place. Seems like not only did America beat everyone in Rio, but America will beat everyone in this as well…
