I’ve been spoiled on anime. At the same time many good shows have had production costs rise. I understand from a business perspective…still sucks though.
it is also because venture bros are still cell animated
Even anime has changed. They do 12 episode seasons for the most part now. It used to be 26. Shit back in the day you didn’t have break between seasons for animes. Now I gotta actually wait for the next season which is weird.
Boruto and black clover keeping that train alive
I think toei stopped filler arcs because expenses
Imagine if we stopped all the 20 episode filler arcs on bleach
I’m not against filler arcs stopping…(except for DragonBall, they have some of the best filler episodes)
Jelly Vegeta and the baseball episode are great as was drivers ed
Now we just need the first episode post broly to be the go karts arc
I also like dragon ball heroes but that is just me
DragonBall Heroes is nonsensical, fanfiction…and I like it all the same
That baseball episode up there with the driving episode. A go Kart episode could potentially surpass both.
Arale episode was nice too, i enjoyed Vegeta breaking the fourth wall
Yeah IIRC the longest running show with the fewest seasons so that’s how it goes. I would forget about the show, check up on it, watch the newest season and by the time I remembered to check on it again MAYBE the next season had dropped. This article mentions a 2-3 year gap between some of the seasons, holy shit.
Red Death is still one of my favorite villains, RIP.
I bet that season 8 gets picked up for hbomax or netflix
Venture bros has made me laugh for so long with no real dips
Sad to hear to about Venture Bros. I wondered how long the delays between seasons would take sometimes over the years. I hope there would atleast be a finale season to wrap everything up. Even Samurai Jack got his ending (twice apparently, with the new game).
In other cartoon stuff, I managed to catch up with some disney stuff with Amphibia and Owl House. They’re both pretty good.
A full CG show’s first season in 1996 had 26 Episodes.
Season 2 and 3 were 13. Pretty insane all the way around given the circumstances.
I am surprised they kept the animation style and the cast the same. Color me intrigued.
Fun fact - Jess Harnell (Wakko) is the voice of Barricade and Ironhide in the live-action Transformers movies.
Most shows had 26 back then
True, but given how it’s one of the earliest CG shows done, that’s pretty impressive. Mainframe was churning a lot out at the time as well.
I love that they are all still doing work
Looking forward to this…maybe i get hulu
