I see Canelo playing it safe with GGG. I could see him trading a bit at first and then being like “fuck this” and just resort to some slick shit. Though, Khan’s left side was all bruised. That is some HnI type of shit, lol.
Thing with GGG is that he can take some hard punches. It’s gonna take Canelo landing a lot of hits or getting in a lucky shot (which I don’t think will happen) for him to win by KO. GGG is like a brick wall when the fight’s going his way and even when his defense slips, his jaw is stout.
Really, I see them both fighting cautiously and it going to decision. I’ll be surprised if either of them gets KO’ed.
Golovkin always trains his neck and chin to withstand hard punches. This is something khan should concentrate on. I am not sure how khan trains for durability though.
Pretty all boxers train to their neck muscles, but you don’t just develop a chin, you learn to not expose yourself. Remember Lewis and Klitschko both had suspect chins that they countered by not being sloppy and getting caught.
Khan left himself wide open for that punch. I think he thought his speed was going to be able to keep him out of those kinds of situations, but he got sloppy.
Exactly. It was a sloppy jab, and you could see that if Khan would have just did a stiffer jab or something, he may have avoided it. But Canelo was waiting for it.
After watching the Canelo vs Khan match its so obvious that Triple G is going to fucking smash Canelo. He’s got so much more power and experience it’s insane. Triple G had 400 amateur matches before even becoming a pro and he will completely mitigate Canelo’s power with his boxing. Hes also way older than Canelo man. People forget Canelo is only 25. In 10 years he will be the best boxer in the world but he’s not there yet. Triple G is going to knock out Canelo out so bad… Mark my words. Hopefully fighting Triple G doesn’t affect his career long term but it will.
Khan has only lost 3 time’s and he moved up to take this fight. People should be giving him props. Khan has mad heart. I gained so much respect for him after watching that fight. And he fought VERY well. He’s also still relatively young (29).
just watched the fight in full. Khan was doing good til he stopped moving also he didnt make Canelo respect him enough when Alvarez started closing the distance. Kinda disappointed in khans performance past round 4, the first 3 rounds he was doing good
Agreed, I thought Khan really had a chance in the first couple rounds. Canelo usually takes a round or two to suss his opponent out but Khan was looking real good. Shame it ended as quick as it did.
You know, for all the hype surrounding Canelo/GGG, I bet it winds up being a pretty conservative fight. It’ll probably end up being like Mayweather/Pac. I really hope I’m wrong, but I bet this fight doesn’t live up to the hype.
Maybe. I really want to be wrong because I’m hella excited for this fight, but it seems like a lot of the hyped up fights never really match the hype. I can’t see Canelo taking a lot of chances, but then, he’s a pretty good counter puncher so GGG could get got.
I guess the big question for me is how well Canelo will be able to take GGG’s power punches. GGG has a chin and will be able to take at least a few of Canelo’s shots but after seeing GGG practically knock MFs thru the ropes, I can’t help but wonder about Canelo if he gets hit.
The media hyped non-fight fans (like your @Zatalcon) to think that Mayweather/Pacquiao was a meeting of 2 knockout artists (despite neither having a KO win in like 5-6 fights) which is why people were disappointed by the fight. Canelo and GGG are both actually known for putting niggas to sleep, so it would be shocking to me if there weren’t some fireworks.
