While I don’t believe Mexico’s hypocrisy is necessarily a valid rebuttal, it goes worth mentioning that their immigration policies are certainly more discerning than what they’re asking us to let [unlawful] Mexican migrants to get away with in coming here, and their treatment of immigrants is several orders of magnitude worse than our own:
Oh, shit: Mexico pres called Obama and told him not to defend the border, and only use the troops to stop drugs and arms…and he caved. Troops are now officially down there for nothing (cuz we know the cartels are too smart to try that shit where there are troops), or to possibly prevent Border Patrol from doing their job. Administration of evil zealots, or criminally naive…hard to tell which. Everything they CLAIM to be trying to do, they do everything they possibly can to cause the opposite.

The border is just under 2000 miles long, do you really think that adding 1000 people on it is going to make a significant difference?

That’s this current crop of democrats for you: everything has to be political to them. They can’t just say “FUCK IT!” and do what has to be done. Everything has to be political and make them come off as not being “mean”, so they do whatever they can to look “nice”…while in reality they just look like pussies, and lose the respect of the failing foreign countries they’re pandering to.

This is just appeasement. Why do you think McCain immediately responded with “we really need 6000 (> 9000?) troops.” when he’s now totally flip-flopped on the issue anyway. Obama doesn’t want to give the Republicans more ammo against the Democrat opponents in the upcoming elections so he tosses them a few crumbs.
