one of the main advantages touted by the blu ray camp is that the price of new blu rays would drop since there was one unified format
except the MSRP of new movies are the same and they’re actually more expensive on amazon than they were 2 years ago
best was christmas 2 years ago when nearly every blu ray movie was buy 1 get 1 free trying to compete with hd dvd at xmas

As of this post, I have never watched a Blu-ray movie. Is there a list of great Blu-ray movies?
I just copped The Hangover, which is my first Blu-ray movie. I’m interested in buying more.

My boy sold me Blade runner: Final Cut, Men In Black, The Host, 3:10 To Yuma, and Superbad for $53. From bestbuy I got Star Trek (which is one of the best looking bd’s) and Patton for $30!:rock:

I’m getting my mom a BR player on Friday and the only show I know she watches is True Blood.
I Netflixed season one of True Blood on BD a few months ago, I remember it looking pretty good actually. Didn’t che k out the extras if there was any though. Check Blu-ray.com, they have good reviews.
Just a heads up, There’s a target coupon (printed from the web, you have to install something) for $5 off any blu-ray at Target until 12/24. You can only print it twice per household, but I think the coupons are identical, so you should be able to copy them.
I picked up Inglourious Basterds for $11.99 ($5 coupon + $3 mfc coupon from newspaper) and Mamma Mia! (same as IB) for $16.99. Was going to get the Hangover with the $5 coupon, but they sold out.
I hate myself for not buying ROME when it was $60 a few days ago.

shigurui, basilisk, and samurai champloo hit blu-ray. looking to grab them soon. i got a ps3 a couple of weeks ago and still havent taken it out of its box. i dont like putting movie disc in game consoles. but i’m buying a blu-ray home theater soon. does anyone have a blu-ray home theater system? i’m going to buy this one followed buy a 42" plasma.
Amazon has the BOURNE trilogy (bluray) on sale today only for $49.99…curse me being poor.
Find the money somewhere and buy the set before they are gone.
One gone, the single releases are going to be on the flipper BD/DVD discs.

For live action, I generally recommend Man on Fire for its reference PQ/AQ and badass story. If you like animation, anything Pixar has released will be demo material.
Alright, finally noticed that Forest Gump is on Blu Ray now. Anyone know about the quality. I heard it was done by the same team that did Gladiator and I heard how bad that movie was on BD
